  • When you hand feed them crickets or put crickets in their tank, they should be lightly covered with reptivite vitamins. This is the calcuim they need because it is very common in lizards and geckos that there bones will start to tighten up and makes it hard for them to eat and this will prevent that! Just a few of my advice for you to keep in mind. And an investment in a humidifyer would be wise because their aqarium should maintain between a 70-80% Humidity. :)

  • I actually own 3 crested geckos, and I would advise that you do invest in a UV light because this gives the vitmans/calcium that they need just as we do from sunlight. Its very good for them. And at night, I would recommend a red heat light because they cant see red. And you shouldnt leave on a light all night or it will mess with their sleeping cycle. No light at night, but light during the day for heat.

  • awwe hes sooo cute he reminds me of my frist crestie.

  • did you no it will hang off your finger by its tail

  • Hey man. I have a like month old baby crested and my house gets kind of cold, so I got him a lamp but the top of his cage is mesh. The cage is kinda big and he's just been chillin on this little cactus; should I put something between the light and the cage or use like a heating pad (for women) on the underside?

  • i have a 1 month old and a 3 month old and there so hyper! there amazing to hold and its awesome

  • You need to feed them crickets with CGD because otherwhile they wouldn't grow good.

  • so just need tank black light and guessing a heat mat

  • @dyrdek2011 nope no heatmat

  • @wazzupsli12 so what do i need all together

  • Respond to this video... ps cool name lol

  • i love mine just got a nice red tiger.

  • are they hard to care for?

  • @CashSmeller Although they are nocturnal they will come out during the day and just lay around in their leaves or what ever plants/vines you have in there they're really amazing animals I love em

  • DAMMIT THEY'RE NOCTURNAL!

  • thats a cute name but uvb light is always good

  • Crested geckos are no doubt my second favorite geckos.

  • Ive kept crested geckos for years now and breed very successfully and i feed my cresteds on baby food as a little treat for them sometimes, its ok to feed them baby food with a little calcium sprinkled on it and it MUST be organic baby food but dont feed them it all the time

  • nice jail tat ;)

  • Beautiful morph! My first herp was a crested gecko. They are such great lizards and not like anything else. A friend of mine had one, and as soon as I held it I knew I had to get one. There little feet and hands are so cool! :D

  • how big is this guy?

  • how big is this guy?

  • Hi, could somebody help me :( i have a 7 month old crested gecko and he/she is only 7 grams and 12cm in length, i think he hasn't been growing properly. I have been making his baby food and cgd everyday and putting it in his tank but i dont think he was eating it so i started to hand feed. I dont mind hand feeding but i just wanted to know if he is small for his age can i get him back to his normal size? please help i nees peoples thoughts thanks :)

  • @jaydenl95 baby food is a big big no no. why? cause it has suger in it, and the gecko will get addicted to it.. stop feeding him that as of now. I read something once that the gecko will go back to eating CGD.. but it would take time.. I dont have a gecko yet ordering it next week.. this is what i would try.. If you stop feeding baby food and he still wont eat CGD.. give him a few days.. if that dont work, kinda mix both baby food with CGD.. and slowly remove the baby food over time. migh work

  • @Musicmaker703 ok thanks :)

  • @Musicmaker703 so you dont have a gecko but youre getting one nice call dumbass *** You can feed your gecko on baby food just not everyday mix it in with a well balanced diet for example crickets*** if you are having trouble feeding a cricket to your gecko try putting some baby food on the cricket and the gecko will get the picture

  • @chesty0100 fuck you dude.. 4 days after the post i had one.. so stick that up your ass.. and baby food is bad.. check out this girl here on youtube. stolenmilkcrate. shes had lizards of all types since she was a kid.. and she says here self not to feed it to them.. where the fuck is your gecko is getting the proper nutrients on baby food? human diets and lizard diets are not the same.. and yes i will agree babyfood everyday is not good.. and that is what that guy was doing so STFU!!

  • @Musicmaker703 fuck you because i feed mine on cgd

  • @chesty0100 Then why the fuck are you fighting with me you stupid cunt. get a fucking life kid..

  • @Musicmaker703 sorry for the late reply i am fucking your mother

  • @chesty0100 dude get a fucking life. you just went from fighting over something very stupid to something even more stupid.. you dumb cunt lol your just making yourself look like a fool.

  • @Musicmaker703 you know what you fucking know it all you can shove your opinion up your probably fat ass suck my fucking dick.

  • @chesty0100 now your just making fun of yourself lol asking a guy to suck your dick.. no thanks i dont swing that way.. and i aint fat, im thin. got anymore fails?

  • @Musicmaker703 end of conversation you said the word "FAIL" << what a fucking nerd you are.

  • @chesty0100 dude we be fighting for almost a week now lol. im gonna ad you as a friend ya crazy son of a bitch. we have the same mentality. we just dont quit lol

  • I have a tint little one sometimes mine crushes and sucks the juice i just see cricket exoskeleton it's so friken weird anyway how long does it take for them to get that big?

  • @welshwilderbeast about 1 year, maybe a bit less.

  • i got my first crestie four days ago and he's having problems eating he's had some of his Crested Gecko Diet and two waxworms yesterday he sicked up part of the wax-worm but he is only 3-4 weeks old any advice?

  • @Slimfanboy313 to young for wax worms, just feed crested gecko diet. as they get to 2/3 months you can try tiny cricket's.

  • Hmm, I notice you let it crawl over you, he's really cute. :D But don't you have to wash up once he's done climbing all over your chest and arms because I hear they can carry salmonella. Even though the chances aren't very high, crested geckos I hear have higher chances of having it. Anyway, cool video.

  • how old untill full size?

  • your lucky you have a nice, calm gecko I got mine at the same spot last march he is HORRIBLE he bites jumps hisses and you can't even hold him! i really want to work with him but he scares me :/

  • Why are you wearing a hat? o.0

Great pet by the looks of it and I'm just hoping "Santa Claus" will get me one for Christmas xD

  • I love gecko's... they're just so cool!

  • There's a difference between correcting someone and providing sources and acting like a pompous ass because you know someone :/ thanks for the info I guess?

  • yesterday i got a four month old creasted gecko. he is tiny and cute and cool and awsome and EPIC

  • thanks man now im going to get one

  • I love these geckos I'm getting one today!!!!!! Yay!!!!!!

  • im getting one very soon and im so excited. one tip never feed them babyfood. many people think its fine but some geckos get addicted and they wont eat anything else = its really sugery

  • very nice one!!

  • you couldent ask for a easier lizard pet, you can feed them nothing but the powedered diet if you want, but they do enjoy the hunt alot. also very calm once acclimated to regular handling

  • damn he(??) by the bulb under his tail. He's a beautiful green I wish my little lutz was that shade of green

  • they are bigger than i expected haha, are they easy to handle? like i was watchin anoter vid and it just randomly jumped out of his hand

  • i spy with my little eye.. pearl jam's stick man! nice!

  • very nice i have a leopard gecko and now want a crested lol.

  • i have a leopard gecko , but love these guys. I live in scotland and now pets at home (petsmart) are now selling these. they sell leo's but i have bought 2 out of there and they were both ill , with impaction and mouthrot . i hate to think more of these guys will not get the correct care they need by the untrained staff there. i overheard one saying you can keep a leo and a beardie in the same tank...wtf? i have a 2 year old raptor leo...check my vid an rate

  • how much do these go for in US dollars

  • Hey gosharks2121.... zip it.... no one likes a know it all. This person didn't make any MAJOR flaws, this is a pefectly fine video and what they said didn't contradict the one thing you know about this species (look up van der waals forces). Congrats on reading one reptile magazine, now let's see you come up with a better video yourself.

  • hes soo big

  • Excellent information. Thank you very much. It will help with a crested that was just donated to us. Thank you.

  • they are awesome. i was introduced to them today. they feel like silk

  • how much r they

  • Very cute.

  • are they good for handling?

  • Gecko's are very nice animals to keep, but remember: You can't handle a gecko too much! You may not touch all sorts of geckos too much, because they have a very tender skin. The sour of a human skin is bad for a gecko skin and you can hurt the gecko skin very easily.

  • nice crested gecko dude

  • how old is crestie therE?

  • Do they bite?

Really? As easy as keeping a fish bowl?

  • finally a cool lizard i can get to stay up with at the night time <---nocturnal also :P

  • hey i got a question can you hold a crested gecko its whole life( baby to adult) in a 18in by 18in by 24in tall- terrarium... thanks in advance.. please reply on my channel

  • @TRIXSK8KEEL no...if ur talking about that exo terra thing then no....the only thing i recommend putting in there for its whole life is a panther gecko. :) a 20gal should do though :D

  • he's like "You make a good tree!"

  • 2 questions. Are they good frist reptiles and do you sel any.

  • Awsome gecko dude so cute.

  • i have a crested gecko named Buddy. He is so funny. Buddy can change colors yellow to brown! He so cute!!!

  • played with these guys in science class and fell in love with them. there so cute ^^

  • @L0adEd or maybe because he was raised in a terrible place that has no clue what they're doing. ya...i'm betting that's the case....

  • @leolover619 more around 35

  • If they get tame enough will he just hang out with you say your watching T.V.?

  • i got Leopard morpfer (Enigma het. Bell and Red eye Bell Enigma) and i got Stenodactulys Sthenodactylus also known as "small finger gecko´s" and i got some allright Ulikovski´s, but this Crested Gecko´s ive been told a lot about, your vidio just did it long time before i did see them real life, i MUST now have Crested Gecko´s.

    Thanks a lot for sharring

  • hey man, i found something similar to what your holding, all i know is that he changes color liek a gecko, has a pointed sort of head, is realtivly small. and if he bites you his saliva fucks you up...thanks

  • @reptilepad i just got 2 babys yesterday =]

  • which is better tokay or this

  • @AlbertoMuse Cresties are much easier to take care of, and they have the advantage of nt being agressive. I personally like Tokays. If you want to see the difference in care info, listen to this guy on the cresties, and go ahead and check out my vid of my Tokay Enclosure to see how they are cared for.

  • @AlbertoMuse But the advantage of Cresties is the fact that they tame pretty easy and are amazingly simple to take care of. Tokays can be pretty agressive, depending if you get a wild caught or a C.B baby. You can tame Tokays pretty easily when you get them young, mine took about a week or so, and is now completely tame.

  • Thanks for the informative video. I wanted a Baby Bearded Dragon, but my parents wont allow crickets in the house. Good to know about the paste. Thanks.

  • "No UV" "but you can see them at night if you have black light" sorry, but isnt it the same?

    anyways. It looks awesome! :D

  • kermits a frog...dont insult aussie lizards like that!

  • is that actually green???

  • Used to have a green one. D8 She died of neglect. (Her old owners.) I felt bad about it.

  • Awesome Video Man! I've just been cruising around checking for some Gecko videos and fans. My friends shot one of those Doritos' commercials using about 4 or 5 of his. Check it out, There's some really great close up shots that might interest you...and if you can help spread the video around that be awesome too!

    search for "Crested Gecko"

  • Oops I meant "Crested Flare"

  • hes big my gecko is small and hes cute i originally wanted a leopard

  • Great looking crestie!

  • gettin one on saterday!! :)

  • I got my crested baby today. They are awesome; I think it's the best reptile purchase I've ever made.

  • lol goo1488, hes a crested gecko

  • its obvious eh lol

  • that's a bull-skin crested the least valuable morph.

    I am a u tube ass hole

  • That looks like a very alert and intelligent gecko. Did you see him cock his head at 0:57? I'm sure you're taking wonderful care of him and that he is very happy! He's a wonderful color, too. :)

  • WTF!!! handling your lizards doesnt damage them unless ure a cruel cunt that squeezes you reptiles, but in that case u shouldnt own any lizard or animal for that matter

  • i'm glad you're interested in cresteds, and you did get the care directions spot on, the crested gecko diet is fantastic. however you did make a MAJOR flaw in saying how the geckos stick to things. the geckos actually have millions of hairs on the bottom of their feet which stick to even smooth surfaces. the only surface that geckos can't stick to is the non-stick surface teflon often used in pots and pans. also the gecko sticks to your shirt by use of the hairs as well as its claws.

  • @gosharks2121 Actually, they're ridges.

  • @xXMorbidMetalXx

Actually, you're completely wrong. They DO have ridge like structures called arrays which are the organized rows of the hairs. the hairs are called seta (plural setae). They use Van der Waals forces along with other micro-forces to stick to things.

I would recommend not trying to disagree with somebody who knows Kellar Autumn, the head researcher in gecko adhesion worldwide.

  • @gosharks2121~ no you're wrong!... they have heaps of tiny suction-cups of their fingers!

  • @marek0086

    You're an idiot.

  • @gosharks2121~ I remember hearing that somewhere.

But i just watched a video that says its many microscopic hairs/fibres (very strong) that grab onto the microscopic imperfections on a surface. These "micro fibres" have the strength of carbon nano-tube fibres. Which is insanely strong!

  • Rhacs are awesome. Not as lovable as beardies, perhaps, but they're so much fun. My faves are gargoyles, but cresties are awesome. :D

  • i remember that feeling before my old chameleon died :(

  • Nice video. Thanks for uploading. Looks like an easy pet to take care of -- now I want one.

  • really amazingly tame geckos, but the giant geckos of new caledonia have been the top aboreal predator for millions of years on a tiny island. a luxery most geckos dont have :P

  • haha look exactly like mine check him out!

  • WOW..love your gecko Kermit..he is so adorable. I have a blue-tongue lizard at the moment..i so want a gecko now..lol

  • i have 2 baby ones at work. i asked my boss to handle one and i held him for an hour.

  • @sniper11235

its actually unhealthy to handle them for more than about 10 minutes a day.

  • your actually retarded.

  • Are they good for begginers ?

  • @iluvpie1223 Yea

  • yh there just a bit jumpy so hold them lower down . dont be alarmed when they jump of u its only natural

  • They shange color at certain adrenlin levels. The green is most likely him "fired up."

  • Yeah, I did too, I also looked at a complete list of color morphs and green wasn't on there =(

    he must be special!

  • I looked all over for that color crested gecko for sale and I couldn't find it does anybody know where to look?

  • Will he save you a bunch of money on your car insurance..??! ha.ha.h.

  • I love him, he's so cute. and they don't look like they have sharp claws.

  • they have pads on there feet

  • great looking gecko

  • he is so cool!!! :)

  • I like how geckos look happy all the time. :>

  • Awesome crested,love the color.

  • I love my cresties <33 They are so gorgeous C:

They are SO hard to stick to just one with, very very addictive!

    I now have two C:

  • i migt get one of these

  • woah i never knew cresties can be green

  • blacklights cause infertility problems. go with red bulbs. i really like patterenless, nice gecko!

  • nice channel

  • u got me hooked on these things

  • hes such a good looking gecko. my boyfriend actually used this video to convince me to get one. It worked . lol

  • i've been researching crested geckos lately, i think im gonna have to get one they seem awesome and easy to take care of, btw can anyone tell me the price range for most baby cresteds?

  • the price really depends on where you get them. baby's range from $45-150 depending on the morph/age

  • which is better to take care of a Bearded Dragon or a Crested Gecko? and do Crested Geckos like to be handled ?

  • hey i was plannning on getting a lizard (never had one before), should i get a bearded dragon or a crested gecko? any other suggestions as well

  • green iguana. I got one 3 years ago. it eats a combination of iguana diet pellets and various greens (NOT ICEBURG LETTUCE) and he's doin' fine. just give him a big-ass cage, a light, and clean his cage every now and then, and you'll have a 5 foot beast that can last up to 20 years. but make sure you buy a baby. they're cheaper (like $12-20), and you hold them a lot as babies and they will like you as an adult.

  • yeah um.........i ment between a bearded dragon and a crested gecko. but thanks, if i were older and could afford the supplies and stuff i would LOVE to get an iguana

  • I'm 14. I've had it for three years. they aren't THAT much. baby = $12-20, small cage = $20, environment pieces = $10, food + lamp = $15. $65 tops (but you will need to build a bigger cage.) I'm just saying green iguanas are REAAAALLY good to start on. that's what I did. but I'd say crested gecko, they seem easy.

  • what about getting a BIGGER cage for adults and paying for food? and i dont know if i can care for an iguana for 20 years

  • you don't buy a bigger cage.. ya build one! out of wood + wire, PVC pipes + wire, ANYTHING! just draw a design, buy some supplies (usually like $30-50), aand build. my home-made cage isn't actually by me, my brother's friend was throwing it out and we needed one, so we just asked for it! they take up a bit of room though, so you may need to move around your room a bit (i did). I feed my iggy romaine lettuce, collard greens, iguana diet, but NO ICEBURG LETTUCE. major no. 20 yrs is with vet visits

  • actually.....my mind is a little bit changed. ssssooo do u think a bearded dragon is more work than an iguana?

  • idk, iguanas are a good amount of work, but they're easy. I might post a video of my iguana cage / setup. and if you take them out frequently as babies, they actually start to like humans! and you can do fun stuff with them like get a leash and take it on walks, let them go swimming in bath tubs, let them out to explore rooms, etc. they're almost like dogs. but if you're goin purely on how easy, these crested geckos don't sound bad at all. but it iguanas are fun as hell.

  • im scared of geckos : (

  • lol, why?
