Adorable show that I grew up with.And still watch it today.A good desent family show next to the Waltons.My favorite Little House Characters: Laura,Pa, Mr.Edwards,Laura's dog Jack,I liked Mr.Edwards and the way that he had a special bond with Laura besides her Dad.When he gives a gift to Laura,He'll say close your eyes tight.Won't stand for no peeking. and puts the gift in her hand

btw, karen grassle (caroline) came into my dads store a couple of years ago. shes not as nice as she is on tv, my aunt wanted to kick her out because she was so rude she was driving all the customers away. i wish i never met her cuz i loved her character on LHOP :(

my favorite characters were laura, pa, albert , and mary because they had the the most interesting roles, and were amazing actors/actresses in some of the most intense episodes :) but i love all the characters. its hard not to!

I absolutely loved and love this show. We have nothing today but pure skank from Hollywood. Why can't we have this type of family show? Has Hollywood become so perverted that it can't appreciate a great family show today? We've got those degrading reality shows. Even the entertainment tv shows have become nothing but gossip on who is falling apart in their lives. Why does Hollywood not want the family to survive? I thank Michael Landon for giving us the gift.

@GreatestSingerEver01 I do agree with you in some way. I hate most reality tv. I can't stand all these shows with young people wheather its bipolar dramatic females, or cocky, alpha guys. However I love tv shows like CSI, and Law and Order, and it seems that these tv shows might soon meet its demise by the end of 2012, or 13. Yes Little House On the Prairie was great. It taught us that no one in this world is perfect we are all humans.

Little House is one of the best shows out there. Susan did a wonderful job casting this show. From Laura and Mary, to Nellie, Willie and Mr. and Mrs. Oleson to even Reverend Alden and Doc Baker everybody was cast appropriatlely.

It was devastating to MG. She was perfect as the universal girl/ LI, which by definition is Not a stunning figure, then there was no call for an adult laura ingalls. completely contrary to her wishes to butter fly bloom into a really attractive women, MG started to look seedy. It was a bad dream for MG, more horribly demonstrated by what Mother nature and drugs did to Kelly McGillis (OUCH).

Thats life. MG better cherish her LI days, that was her apex and better than most get.

i disagree that m.g. was not perfect/over-the-top gorgeous, or whatever the lady said. she was an especially beautiful child. she didn't have the blond/blue coloring that many find to be the most beautiful, but she was as cute as it gets.

the funny things is that MG beat the crap out of herself in later life as an adult over not being able to be a drop dead gorgeous female figure. the elements that made her plausible as laura ingalls in turn prevented her being the hot bombshell she later so longed to be.

the More she tried to primp herself into the bomshell mold the worse she looked. MG couldn't make it as a bombshell,not even close. &Stephanie Zimbalist took over the not bombshell but attractive role MG might have had.

Being a "hot bombshell" is overrated. I think Stephanie Zimbalist was awfully cute. And Melissa Gilbert grew up to be quite pretty, when she wasn't trying too hard.
