  • This is my favorite Hitchens debate because it's so funny. He toys playfully with Turek in such a way that it's obvious that Hitchens has a stronger buzz than usual. The bonus joke is that Frank has his debates with Hitchens on his youtube page and touts them as victories for him.

  • I've watched this before and was wondering (before I watch through it again), does anyone know if Frank Turek is a Creationist? Or does he believe in evolution? An answer would be very appreciated.

  • 'define evil'

    'religion'

    Classic

  • I found myself at least 3 times during this debate wanting to punch Mr. Turek in the neck. I've watched so many of these debates and I think i need to stop watching them. All of these theists keep falling back on the same bullshit arguments, and keep asking the same questions over and over and just won't accept the answer given to them. I am losing my tolerance for these people

  • Mr. Turek needs to learn how to use his inside voice. He is extremely annoying !

  • the same old stupid ass theist arguments. I keep hoping to see something new or ground breaking, but its always the same moronic arguments. blah blah blah.......I'm bored ! A banana fits perfectly in my hand so therefore God exists !

  • I hate how the Christian keeps shouting.

  • The fact that someone intelligent as Turek can so painfully stumble through such misapprehension of the anthropic principles shows how much religion is a personal crutch made entirely from cognitive dissonance.

  • i wonder how hitchens is enjoying hell and taking satins big cock today?

  • I can't believe he cited something that Richard Dawkins said to try to make the point that life is too complex to have evolved and needed a designer. Has he read Dawkins? Dawkins has demolished intelligent design better than anybody else has in numerous books. He actually understands biology and has all of the mathematical models and scientific literature to demonstrate that evolution is sufficient to explain complexity, and makes an amazing argument for the layperson in The Blind Watchmaker

  • I always think debates with this theme are hugely biased towards the Abrahamic religions from the start - "Does god exist?". The question should be "Do gods exist?". There is no argument you can use for a monotheism that can't be made for a polytheism.

  • Why do theists always yell?

  • @devanteswiing For the same thick people get mad and break things when they get frustrated with things.

To be fair this is his first debate though, and he's arguing a difficult (as in blatantly incorrect) position.

  • @devanteswiing because they know their followers are blind, so they must assume they are deaf too

  • 1:28:42 OWNED :D

  • His premise during the entire debate was an argument from ignorance, and then he closed with an ad hominem attack. WTF does Hitchen's intentions have to do with whether or not a god exists?

    Keep it classy Turek!

  • Turek is such a joke. Why do theists foolishly continue using the same argument

"Well mister smarty pants if no gawd exists who makes spring come/ the rain fall from the sky/ makes lightnings/ puts the rainbow..."and the latest fad "...started the big bang?"

What a fool. In a hundred years maybe they will be left out of gaps to stick their god into.

Also - "How could something come from nothing without a gawd?" google "virtual particles" and shit your pants Turek, you lousy uninformed idiot

  • @sapunec7854

I'd just like them to explain to me the special pleading involved in

    a) the most complex thing in the universe (god) not requiring a creator, when everything else does

    b) How a timeless being can act

    c) How a perfect being could ever create

    d) How a 'finely tuned' universe can be >99.99999999999999% instantly fatal to human life

    e) How free will can exist in a system set up by an omnipotent, omniscient being

Just little things like that. Then I might laugh at them less.

  • @sapunec7854

"Why do theists foolishly continue using the same argument"

Because according to the 7th law of thermodynamics, when all of your arguments are exhaustively refuted, they are to be reworded and packaged with psychological and emotional games.

    You can't explain that!

  • Hey Turek: Excedra? (sounds like a tablet for headache relief). ET CETERA, ya douche.

  • Starts at 5:30, but the person worth listening to starts at 28:30
