Reach's beat down system sucks. End of story. The perfect beat down system was Halo 1's.

Reach's skill gap is still a decent size, but its even less than Halo 3's. I have never gone neg, but I have gotten out DMR'ed by some people I should NOT have, due to the inconsistency of the bloom.

Reach is a good game, but a completely different one from Halo 2. If you prefer H2 to Reach, that's fine, continue to play on that. But the reason Bungie made Reach was to attempt to expand and appeal to a greater audience, by improving the game as a whole. All this leads towards their ultimate goal of WORLD DOMINATION, so don't argue with that.

Reach is far from balanced and smooth, this game has the most randomness out of the entire Halo series, you should never get out DMR'ed by a player who is worse than you at the game, but it seems to happen a lot because of the randomness, in Halo 2 there was a big skill difference between noobs and good players. In Reach there is barely no skill gap at all, which is why Halo 2 definitely takes more skill than Reach. Consistency > randomness anyday

The reason why Halo 2 is a superior game skill wise is because there was a HUGE difference between noobs and pros, if you were good at Halo 2 you could consistently win in 1v1's 15-0 against a noob, but in Halo Reach this isn't the case, a noob is more likely to get lucky in Reach because of the randomness, thus making the skill gap smaller making it less skill based

True skill, commendations). I can assure you halo 2 had a lot of randomness, sword with no energy limit must mean your good.
