Very good video. I started a tripod setup like that but found my Arrow antenna seemed to like to be turned to match the bird's polarization and I could not think how best to do that on a tripod. Recording the pass is essential too: it happens way too fast to remember otherwise. I catch it on camera, but I like the recorder idea. Thanks for putting the video up, and 73! Mike
Very inspiring. I recently just picked up the same Elk log periodic. It works very well, but mounting it to a tripod like you did would be a whole lot easier for operating.
Great video! I'm using an ft60 with a rubber duckie right now--thinking of getting an elk to work the ao-27. What extra connectors/cables do you use to attach the Elk to the ft60?
Nice video. I haven't found a tripod sturdy enough for my Arrow. It keeps tipping over when I mount it. I use the "arm-strong" method. Good intro to shooting sat videos. I will have to do one myself. Thanks for the QSO on AO-27!
