  • President Bush was certainly able to play the part, but there's a difference between him and presidents like Eisenhower - Bush never served in the military. If he did, he'd understand what war is like, and might have been a little less eager to send troops into war.

  • @alexanderdirksen Uhh he was in the military...

  • @diamondrod9 Uhh sort of in a shitty, "I served no active duty, but I'm willing to send other men's sons to a possible death over 6,000 miles from their country" kind of way.

  • @alexanderdirksen

Bush was in the military. And no offense but we don't need Canadians outlook on things.

Address videos of your own military and leaders.

  • @alexanderdirksen He was actually in the Airforce. But he did not serve any active duty, true.

  • @alexanderdirksen so you obviously understand what wars like huh? Shut up

  • matone

  • I believe the military by and large liked him as President. Whatever his faults, he understood to need to give the military the respect that must always command.

  • It sure was nice to have a pro-American president. Oh, how we took this for granted. And for those of you who think 0bama is a pro-American president, just look at his body language when he speaks about it. Body language=75% of communication. Talking a.k.a. READING A TELEPROMPTER=25%.

  • G3 GOPHERS!!!! FUCK YEAH!!!!!

  • Big difference in Bush's and Obama's welcome from the Cadets.

  • @bigdogsdontbark you should see the difference between reagan and obama's welcome

  • I was proud to call him our President, with a capital P. I still cannot call Obama our president, he does not belong and he's not a US citizen. People finally realize that this is why Schwarzenegger can't be president and he would like to run but can't. Yes, you can see the pride in these people that they don't have with Obama, to bad he's president.

  • Jeez I miss Him so much, just watching this video for the second time, made me feel so nostalgic for the REAL C IN C.

He will have GOD's blessings all o0f his days.

Obama did not belong at West Point for his lame speech. You could tell his heart wasn't in it.

  • clarification: I'm not saying that the military works for us the same way that the Congress & Pres do. I'm saying that Mission One of the military is to protect we "stupid civilians." Our taxes do pay for the military, but I do not view our military personnel primarily as our employees. There is something sacred and noble about our military that goes beyond employer-employee. No one has affection for the DOT. Many of us have great affection for those in the military. There is a difference.

  • Comment removed

  • @undedrgrad - care to explain why ANYONE would prefer Obama to Bush? And if you are an indication of what our military is becoming, we're in deep shit. You work for we "stupid civilians," or doesn't your military training teach you that? Perhaps it's different under the Communist-in-Chief?

  • wow look at the difference between how the guys at westpiont recive bush and how they recive obama

  • I was never a big fan of George Bush when he was President, but in hindsight he looks pretty damn great compared to what you're stuck with now.

  • God I miss him. What a great leader. Yes, I did notice how the cadets received President George W. Bush as opposed to obumer.

  • I miss him too...

  • I miss him too...

  • Notice the difference between how cadet treat Bush and obama... they know obama really feels

  • Obama clearly has told us how wonderful Islam is and that he believes Muslim's outrank Christians in the US.

I still don't believe Obama is a US citizen and that was a big coverup.

I have always liked Bush and I believe he has always been sincere. And yes, he does love our country, unlike Obama. Obama wants to bring home troops by 2011 in time for his reelection only and i don't think it will happen.

  • I miss our Commander in Chief who knew exactly what he stood for and what he was trying to accomplish. KEEPING US SAFE from TERRORISTS!! He didn't take a poll, he didn't give speeches to remind everyone how wonderful every thing he did was. He did the right thing with the media and leftists constantly berating him. He was a GREAT president and I miss him!!!

  • Really miss this guy...... very sad and nostalgic on watching this.

  • Awesome !!! The military respects President Bush much more than obowmmmma ! obowmmma hates America and our military ....

    God Bless Bush !

  • God bless President Bush! I miss him and wish we had him back in office right now. He truly loved and cared about our military and our national security, and I felt safer under his leadership, even after 9/11, than I do now.

  • What a difference between W and 0. GWB was the real deal, BH0 is a joke and the cadets know it. I miss the grown-ups running our government. You can bet that GWB wouldn't be "killing time" for 3 mos while our soldiers were in harms way. BH0 is the liberal-in-chief not commander. He's no leader like W was.

  • You're full of *hit. I doubt you've ever seen a gun let alone fire one.

Statistics don't lie -- military members supported Bush 3-1 in 2004.

  • really? Was my class even at West Point at 2004? Was Obama even running in 2004? You can go ahead and dust my degree next semester. That is why West Point don't accept stupid people like you.

  • this is a real president

  • DUH

  • I miss Bush too, but at least Obama was acting like an American in his West Point speech.

  • You are correct Obama acted exactly like an America hating liberal socialist not a Commander in Chief.

  • Obama has to "act like" an American because he isn't one. He doesn't care about America at all.

EVERY American should miss President Bush. He protected us at his own expense. He loves this great country. God BLESS him!

And may God protect our troops from this charlatan who claims to be "Commander in Chief."

  • President Bush was the best!

    Miss you, Sir!!!

  • Trash him any way you want, liberals, but he was the right man at the right time. I miss his steady hand as well, even though I disagreed with him at times.

History will be much kinder to Bush than it will be to Obama.

  • Doesn't that depend upon who writes that History?

  • @LewWaters well said

  • @LewWaters Yeah, if you happen not to read books, and only watch Fox News, it will be tougher on Obama.

  • Bush truly loved our military and they loved him!

  • I miss Bush.

  • Holla! Bush Rocked... Obama is an embarrassment to our military and to our country... the cadets know the difference between a Commander and Cheif and a loser.

  • THAT, Obama, is patriotism. Take a page from this great man's book, will ya?

  • Say what you want but Bush did love the military and they loved him. Prissy Mathews never said Bush was speaking in "enemy territory"

  • Bush was a phenominal Commander in Chief

  • Bush was loved by our military because he loved them!

  • Notice the difference between the response Bush got vs Obama tonight.

  • 3. I gave up my shot at the Regiment to go there and all I got was some guy threatening my LIFE at beast and getting commissioned 2 years later, AFTER IT WAS REPORTED AND THERE WAS A HONOR INVESTIGATION FOR HIS LYING, AND HAD SOME KID PUT THE BUSINESS END OF HIS RIFLE INTO THE BACK OF MY HEAD CHARGE IT AND NOT GO TO MILITARY PRISION?!

  • Seriously folks...a little decorum.

I just want to know if he granted amnesty?

  • Good speech, although it would be nice if they had spelled "West Point" correctly in the post-interview with the cadet.

  • ya, it wasnt THAT thrilling. but it was cool to see regardless of your opinion of him, just cause you get to appreciate first hand the importance and the meaning of such a powerful position.

  • Sorry, littlegoodie2shoes, these cadets were absolutely thrilled to have their Commander-in-Chief visiting them. I know firsthand because my cadet was among them!

  • Well, we weren't THAT thrilled lady...

  • Hey, it got you out of class for the day, didn't it? :D

  • Speak for yourself, I was excited

  • "...officers in the military think..." That is probably the biggest generalization I have heard lately, and I don't appreciate it.

And then of course, "murderer and a criminal." Can you get any more dramatic? I don't support Obama's views, but you won't see me saying things like that about him.

You sound like exactly the kind of cadet that makes me hate the way this place is run, and exactly the kind of officer I hated while I was enlisted. You think you know everything.

  • hmmmmm.......were you there? didn't think so.....

  • littlegoodie2shoes

Go blow it out your ass bitch. The military supports Republicans 3-1, look it up. Would you rather have Kerry in office? Who thinks of service members as people who just failed at life and have no other choice (see army stupid). Or how about Obama, who doesn't even reach the citizenship qualifications to be president and hasn't spent a day in his life in uniform. A man who wants to bring in a Nazi like Gestapo because he knows he doesn't have the support of the military...

  • When you gave that oath, you swore to uphold the US Constitution (NOT the federalist papers). By the simplest definitions, that means you have to follow the president to hell and back if he wants you to. When I run in to fuckers like you in the military I just want to fucking puke. If you don't care enough about the military to go to war without calling your President a war criminal THEN DON'T FUCKING JOIN, IT'S NOT FOR EVERYONE. Quit sucking up the benefits that could be going to a good soldier

  • bkmalone86 you're an ignorant piece of "fecal matter". We are a Republic with a Constitution-the oath is sworn to uphold the Constitution of the United States-it mentions no President. "Benefits" you must be joking and obviously never got your dirty little panties wet-you're no doubt anal tissue that has gone south.

  • ... you are not in the military,

  • PS You said, "Your cadet" mmmmmm let me warn you not to intimidate your cadet-let him discover his own path in life. He will figure out what is BS on his own. He certainly doesn't need mommie barking up his ass!!! Been there done it.
