This must be one of Chas Chandler's last performances with Eric, and I didn't know he went this late with the Animals. Guess he had to leave and become another forgotten bass playe - oops, MAKE A STAR OFJIMI HENDRIX!
pretty cool to see chas chandler in these early days rockin the bass. (he looks hilrarious at 1:31). who knew he'd go on to produce rolling stone's and pretty much every other major music fan or corporation's #1 rated guitarist, jimi hendrix.
Its not from 1964, its 1966 footage, just before demise of original Animals. Someone has joked that acid guys were in one side and beer drinkers other side.

wow! this is great. Eric is awesome and chas too (didn't he die recently?) The problem of getting old>people die... Luckily, there are still some great musicians around.
The organ player is Dave Rowberry, who replaced Alan Price in the Animals lineup. I think Dave preferred the Hammond organ to the Vox Keyboard that Price liked to play. Dave Rowberry passed away in 2003, while bass guitarist Chas Chandler died in 1996. RIP Chas and Dave.

A really good and underrated band. I think they came closer to capturing the essences of the real blues. More so than any of the other British bands.

you can hear the Bluesy sound these Brits loved so much. They appreciated Black music more than Americans back in the day.

I have to admit bands like the doors and the animals performed their best on ed sullivan show, great real live sound

Let me disaggre, The Doors played Light My Fire, but didn't play the complete version.
Their shoes were more enthusiastic back then... Ed Sullivan sucks.
