  • groovy, boys, groovy.

  • This must be one of Chas Chandler's last performances with Eric, and I didn't know he went this late with the Animals. Guess he had to leave and become another forgotten bass playe - oops, MAKE A STAR OFJIMI HENDRIX!

  • the drummer looks like hes having a blast

  • @MrConfuzeable I know you meant that in a funny way. I thought the same thing. Ha!

  • oh.. thank you for putting it again.

  • Who is the drummer in this video?

  • @cursino1 Barry Jenkins from the Nashville Teens. He took John Steele's place

  • A pity the middle " bit " has been edited out. Regards.

  • Another great performance by the Animals...

  • Wonder where John Steel is when this aired?

  • @TheDave107 I think by this time he had quit

  • this goes out to all the captains in this years pollet river run

  • Thanks for that info-I may oder that at sometime.

  • one of the greatest songs ever! luv the animals :D

  • eric's short-but hot! the band sounds great, too.

  • @SuperSaiyan2Vegito

I must agree with that and have huge equipment je je

  • @SuperSaiyan2Vegito

    he,he yes indeed

  • Their music could never bring me down if they tried.

  • love the guitar's fuzz-tone box for distorted effects

  • @beatles65 that is the same exact make and model ringo uses :)

  • i had one video from elvis presley from the ed sullivan show that one is canceld by youtube thanks

  • pretty cool to see chas chandler in these early days rockin the bass. (he looks hilrarious at 1:31). who knew he'd go on to produce rolling stone's and pretty much every other major music fan or corporation's #1 rated guitarist, jimi hendrix.

  • He maybe a smaller dude but one of the best voices in Rock N Roll!

  • is that the same (or looks like) the drums ringo uses

  • No don't bring lil eric down, he's already only 3 feet tall .

  • @jsilence418

yes but have huge voice , he,size no metter whan he sings

  • @milka1538 Agreed!

  • @jsilence418 i bet you could suck 3 feet of cock!

  • @Rainbowshow No that would be your mother the old whore, I wouldn't have to worry about your 3 inches eh tiny !!

  • uhhhh i think that the intro is

    AMAZING AMAZING

the guitar and piano is amazing

  • Catharthic,Soulfull songs NEVER bring me down!!

  • why must it be edited! its hardly long enough as it is. STOP EDITING!

  • nice song, but its all about House of The Rising Sun

  • Wow...look at that HQ early color video which was quite rare in that era. Really nice performance.

  • Great music. Eric, what a voice. Love Ya.

  • Its not from 1964, its 1966 footage, just before demise of original Animals. Someone has joked that acid guys were in one side and beer drinkers other side.

  • the greatest voice of rocknroll...

He is and will continue being one of my greatest inspirations

  • This was in 1966 not 64.Ed didn't go color until 1965.This was right before the Animals split. They reformed as THE NEW ANIMALS afterwards.

  • i thought they were rebels, bad asses and then i find out this song was written by Carole King...

  • lol

  • Quite a band with or without Alan Price!!!

  • It is so amazing how people have all of these great classic recordings... unbelievable!!

  • Its not from 1964 when you would have seen the original animals. This is from 1966 when the single came out and is just before he created the "new" animals.

  • Hard to believe that this footage is from 1964.

  • this band cant ever bring me down. great song

  • A really good and underrated band. I think they came closer to capturing the essences of the real blues. More so than any of the other British bands.

  • omg Eric Burdon 1964, and still going strong. God bless !

  • I saw Eric Burdon at the Astra in Bondi in 1981. Awesome!

  • Will raise the dead certain the right way?

  • you can hear the Bluesy sound these Brits loved so much. They appreciated Black music more than Americans back in the day.

  • i think this was the last performance eric did with the original animals before they split.

Eric has the best voice ever!

  • the drummer looks like he's having a blast lol

  • its shows not shoes lolz

  • my fav too! but here it's missing a particular stop that i love

  • my fav animals tune

  • Cool ANimals in Turtlenecks!!

  • wow! this is great. Eric is awesome and chas too (didn't he die recently?) The problem of getting old>people die... Luckily, there are still some great musicians around.

  • Chas died in 1996

  • C'mon with it and hit me now!!

  • check out mike pritchett drum solo youtube

  • Great posting Thanks 5****

    Claude

  • This was not 1964, but 1966

  • I have to admit bands like the doors and the animals performed their best on ed sullivan show, great real live sound

  • Let me disaggre, The Doors played Light My Fire, but didn't play the complete version.

Their shoes were more enthusiastic back then... Ed Sullivan sucks.

  • No offense to the organ player, but I really missed Alan Price back then.

  • The organ player is Dave Rowberry, who replaced Alan Price in the Animals lineup. I think Dave preferred the Hammond organ to the Vox Keyboard that Price liked to play. Dave Rowberry passed away in 2003, while bass guitarist Chas Chandler died in 1996. RIP Chas and Dave.

  • All-around stud performance - and song, written by Carole King and Gerry Goffin - this was my first 'front man' /vocalist hero - great vid!

  • Eric Burdon is the tops!

  • indeed great truly great classic

  • fantasticcccc

  • eric has pipes, it is undisputed...this may be my favourite "animals" hit record

  • I love the distorted, overdrive guitar sound. Great band-Eric must have huge lungs-damn!

  • Great classiq 60's british beat song!!!! so Garage live sound!

  • I think this is around the time Chas brought Jimi to England... autumn 1966?

  • What a great band!
