Cool video of the baby turtles. We have hatching in front of our hotel in Puerto Vallarta almost every year. We even posted a video of the 2011 hatching on our channel. Thanks for sharing!
FOR ALL SEA TURTLE LOVERS, (ages 0 to 90) comes a sweet little book you will want to read again and again: I’LL FOLLOW THE MOON. Baby green sea turtle is asleep in his nest way below the beach’s surface. Suddenly he opens one eye – and starts to stretch…crack, crack goes his egg and soon he’s free. Up he digs, then across he crawls, finding the sea by the flickery moonlight on the waves. Mama is waiting in the deep! Can he find her? Read and see!
i saw this on thrusday. it was the most amazing experience ever. But the nest we watched was the first one of the season and had lotsssssss of problems. We stayed out there for two nights in a row, waiting for the turtles to hatch. on the first night, only onw came out, which is extremely rare, and the rest didnt come out till the nest day. When they first started to come out, only like 50 or 60 actually came out. Then and hour later two groups of like 30 came out. It was strange but soo cool (:
How do baby sea turtles know how to get into the water if they hatched in the sand? I know its their instincts but what the hell is their instincts? Is it like an inside voice?
Instincts: Hey you.
Turtle: Me?
Instincts: Yeah I'm talking to you
Turtle: Who are you?
Instincts: Im your freaking instincts now get yo fat ass in the water!
I would've just grabbed 'em all and put them in the sea myself. Around 90% Sea Turtle babies die after hatching, either having been prey, or not making it to the ocean in time, ect. Or so I've heard.
@XxShaym1nxX actually only about 1 in 1000 baby sea turtles make it to adult hood. Lots of turtle nest are protected by state programs that be sure each turtle makes it to the water safely. I bet that this nest was protected by some sort of turtle program. But after they get to the water, they end up dying by prey or being to weak to swim, because they have to swim like 90 miles in 3 days or something.
@XxShaym1nxX but if you would have put them in the sea bythem self they wouldnt be able to swim long, because they couldnt train their muscles on land you know ;) mother nature is thoughtfull^^
@thelourdlovesus Do you know how big they get? You can't take one home, because if you don't when they do get big and you let them go they won't know how to be a turtle.
@stackagucci You got VERY lucky. Not only is it rare to see them hatch, but those are Leatherback Sea Turtles, perhaps the rarest sea turtle in the world.
Hey! I am a film student in North Carolina making a short documentary about sea turtles for my class. I love this video, and I was wondering if I could use it for my project? I would really appreciate it! I would of course credit you for it
go turtles go go go go go hey what are you doing hippies stop clearing a path for them they have to do it on there own why are you there any way thats the cyotes lunch the ones that dont make it i mean
People say turtles are endangered but if that's the case just give them a helping hand, all too often only a minority of the brood make it to the sea due to predators.
Even though these guys are doing this, its still rediculous how you arent allowed to help them if they flip over or anything, because its deemed as interfering with nature... I would help every single one of those little guys to help their species :). Its a shame that only 1 in 10 make it to adulthood =(
@jigglesnap normally it's because of the weather. not all of the eggs in all clutches hatch at the same time. I've seen a nest where there were a few eggs that hatched a day later...just depends I suppose. Nature is cool like that.
You never pick up a baby sea turtle, because it wont build up enough muscles to survive the ocean... the only way is to point the sea turtles in the right direction.
90% will die, 10% will live to adults. sorry. But its much better if they are kept in protection for a few weeks so their shells can harden making it more difficult for predators to goble them up...:P
most of them will actually die before reaching adulthood, that's why there's so many of them, to ensure that at least some survive. they are the cutest things, tho.

3) Asshole husband telling his wife to be quiet
