Actually I'm quite scared by the sound that it makes when I insert the disc. Never hear those sound before... I afraid the superdrive and the disc would destroy... lol...
I've had 2, both do that. It's np, although in my old one the plastic began to peel away so the CDs would get stuck... but the aluminum one is fine, dun worry :)

That's perfectly normal. My MacBook Pro sounds like that too. So does every MBP or unibody MB i've ever used...

Do they all so this??? This is the only flaw besides the usb distance that I've seen on the MacBook Pro. That mess is loud!!!

Actually it does sound a lit like the CD drive on my car... but I drive an American car so that might explain the noise. LOL!
