He will get carries. The Seahawks traded Leonard Weaver leaving the starting fullback position open. Holmgren's reluctance at giving Schmitt PT was due to his conservative game plan. Also that he had a solid performing vet at fullback. I mean if the Hawks had won games last year, Owen woulda got some PT. Still, I think Owen might be what the Hawks need. He'd bring some spark to the back corp of the Seasquawks. Lord knows they need it.
Actually, Weaver left via free agency. Seattle didn't even talk to Weaver, which is 1 reason why he left. don't get me wrong, I think Owen Schmitt is the next big power runner for the Seahawks, and should get a lot of carries in this new offense Seattle has in place. Plus, I think he might be a better fit than Weaver. I'm torn because I like both of them.

On to Owen Schmitt, tremendous football player that is going to have a very long solid career and be a fan favorite. He is stuck behind one of the best fullbaks in the NFL right now in Seattle though.
I think it is sad to see people stereotype any race to play a certain position, that being said there are plenty of whites who are capapble of playing runningback. Polynesians cna play runningback as many do at BYU,Utah and Hawaii. Except for Tim Dwight, and Matt Jones, and Brian Urlacher. Jones is 240 and runs a sub 4.4, Dwight runs low 4.3's (in his prime), and Urlacher could play any position he wanted.
jones ran a 4.76 at the combined not a 4.4 adn urlacher ran a 4.5...tim dwight on the other hand won the 100 meter dash in the big ten championship...i think anybody can play in postion long as they have the talent...but the reason more black guys are playing running back then white guys are because they are more athletic...you see more black guys running 4.3 even 4.2s then u do white guys...its a fact...and thats not saying u dont C white guys running those times its just rare...

Yeah I admit small genetic differences along racial lines, but geneticists are yet to find these mythical fast twitch muscle advantages and loose hips that only blacks possess. This is the same thing that happened to the black QB. All you have to do is look at Rivals for full proof of recruiting bias. West Virginia got a gem with Owen.... you lucky bastards. I went to UW River Falls and watched him play prior to his transfer, and the guy was a monster on the field. Off the field he was a pretty cool dude. Seattle lucked out in drafting him in the 5th round. Whoever starts at running back for them will be a perennial 1000 yard rusher if Owen is lead blocking for him. You can take that statement to the bank.

We're really going to miss Owen in our offense people dont relize how vital his role was hell we recruited 2 FB's to try and find one...it's just he was a H-back/Fullback and given short yardage Runningback, hell at one point las in the season slaton went down he was our 2nd RB on the depth chart he steped in and ran for 112 yrds 2 td's the guy can play..and play hard and will do Whatever's asked of him and do it damn well
R. Johnson's 4.1 YPC is very average and he plays for one of the best offenses in the league and had an above average O-line to boot. If you put Evans or Alstott in that offense as the featured runner at HB they would average about 4.5 YPC IMO. Alstott averaged 3.9 YPC in his prime behind bad O-lines and with an unimpressive passing game (Sean King for instance) to compliment him & w/o a lead blocker. He was used mostly to protect a lead when they knew the Bucs were running or in 3rd and short.
How about the case of Heath Evans? He was bigger, stronger and faster than Rudi Johnson and posted a better YPC running the ball w/o a lead blocker at Auburn, yet had to beef up to block for Johnson. Auburn originally asked Johnson to consider playing FB, but he refused. Evan ran a 4.5 out of H.S. In his one start in the NFL at HB, Evans rushed for 4.5 YPC. R. Johnson's career average is 4.1 YPC. Evans could be a great cutback power-runner, (he's got a great burst) if given a chance in the NFL.

The ability of white skill players to measure up in the short shuttle (whites have about 1/2 the top times and the Combine record; nfldraftscout), vertical leap (about 1/3 the top jumps), 3-Cone (about 1/2 the top times) and by my research on average only lose about .05 in the 40 yard shows whites are discriminated against. This is even with whites beefing up and switching to LB like Tim Shaw did at Penn State. Running the 3-Cone and Short shuttle takes amazing burst and agility.
Hass is as fast or faster than J. Rice and I. Bruce and plays a very similar game in style to Rice and Bruce. Hass was uncoverable against the top CBs in college. There has never been a player in NFL history that's made a roster that has run a sub 10 electronic timed 100 meter. Few NFL players have world class speed.
Another bias in the media is the over-inflation of average 40 times. A bad 40 time was given as a reason why Mike Hass who ran a 4.59 and 4.56 at the Combine and Pro Day wasn't drafted till the 6th rd. despite being the Biletnikoff award winner as college's best WR in the same conference as Reggie Bush. Yet the avg. 40 time for WRs at this yrs. NFL combine was 4.58. (ie Draftdaddy blog) Looking at NFLdraftscout I noticed around 6 or 7 WRs every year drafted higher than Hass w/ slower 40 times.
I don't blame blacks for this biased system though, I blame the Div. IA colleges and the ignorant drunken fans and biased media and spineless recruiters and coaches.
The potato chip eating masses and media think the whites can't run the ball, so there is no sense the scouts and coaches take a risk to be unconventional. The disparaging of white athleticism is so strong that many blacks feel insulted if a white guy plays ahead of them at RB, WR, CB. Hence the reason a great like Ed McCaffery didn't start until he was over 30 & only b/c of injury.
Coaches are conservative and don't go against the grain and bring in a white HB or WR b/c they will get questioned about it and fans love to make fun of white players athleticism "tight hipped" "can't jump." Universities prefer to give their athletic scholarships to blacks at as high a rate as possible b/c they feel a guilt complex over the socio-economic and black academic underachievement gap between white and black, which I agree is a problem.
KGDABE: Me and Stoval have been doing research on this topic for yrs. I have about 20 investigative newspaper articles asking ?s about white RBs that were dominant statistically against top competition in H.S, had impressive athletic measurables and very impressive highlights that were snubbed by Div. I college. A couple times a college recruiter came right out and said we can't bring a white RB in here. Instead of calling us racist why don't you have me e-mail you the articles and our research.

Crouch got one chance to play WR, but he stuck to his guns to play QB. That is why he isn't in the NFL. Would Vick have done anything different had he been in the same situation?
Vick was a cellar dweller in completion percentage while in the league, and he never could consistently lead his team to victory and he was often injured. Thats what he did. Crouch never got the same opportunity to start at his natural position QB/RB. Many players like Brandon Hancock were converted to FB in college or used as such but were actually RBs. UAB is a lot better competition than Northwest Missouri State's Xavier Oman who was drafted today. Lumsden is better than quite a few NFL RBs.

He will get carries. The Seahawks traded Leonard Weaver leaving the starting fullback position open. Holmgren's reluctance at giving Schmitt PT was due to his conservative game plan. Also that he had a solid performing vet at fullback. I mean if the Hawks had won games last year, Owen woulda got some PT. Still, I think Owen might be what the Hawks need. He'd bring some spark to the back corp of the Seasquawks. Lord knows they need it.

Actually, Weaver left via free agency. Seattle didn't even talk to Weaver, which is 1 reason why he left. don't get me wrong, I think Owen Schmitt is the next big power runner for the Seahawks, and should get a lot of carries in this new offense Seattle has in place. Plus, I think he might be a better fit than Weaver. I'm torn because I like both of them.

That safety is DJ Wolf, I believe he went undrafted this year but he is a pretty good player and I thought he would get drafted, same with OUs other safety Darrien Williams.
On to Owen Schmitt, tremendous football player that is going to have a very long solid career and be a fan favorite. He is stuck behind one of the best fullbaks in the NFL right now in Seattle though.

I think it is sad to see people stereotype any race to play a certain position, that being said there are plenty of whites who are capapble of playing runningback. Polynesians cna play runningback as many do at BYU,Utah and Hawaii. Even some hispanic runners are becoming more common to see on Scout, Rivals, etc. Ali Alaboody an arabic runner has just comiited to Bowling Green. Except for Tim Dwight, and Matt Jones, and Brian Urlacher. Jones is 240 and runs a sub 4.4, Dwight runs low 4.3's (in his prime), and Urlacher could play any position he wanted.

jones ran a 4.76 at the combined not a 4.4 adn urlacher ran a 4.5...tim dwight on the other hand won the 100 meter dash in the big ten championship...i think anybody can play in postion long as they have the talent...but the reason more black guys are playing running back then white guys are because they are more athletic...you see more black guys running 4.3 even 4.2s then u do white guys...its a fact...and thats not saying u dont C white guys running those times its just rare...

I have articles where the aforementioned are quoted talking about positional slotting. Sam has the second best SPARQ rating for a RB in this H.S class & the guy that beat him only beat him b/c he has an insane 45 bench presses. McGuffie has the third best YPC out of all the 11 AP RBs ranked ahead of him. McGuffie had more yards & TDs Jr. year than every 4 & 5 star recruit other than D. Scott. McGuffie has the most impressive highlights in the nation. Rivals is owned by cultural Marxist Yahoo.

Yeah I admit small genetic differences along racial lines, but geneticists are yet to find these mythical fast twitch muscle advantages and loose hips that only blacks possess. This is the same thing that happened to the black QB. All you have to do is look at Rivals for full proof of recruiting bias. Rivals has a mere 11 whites in the top 100 this yr. and only 2 whites who aren't OL or QB. Even the NFL finds way more whites than that. Tony Dungy, Tom Lemming & Don Bebee agree there's a bias.

West Virginia got a gem with Owen.... you lucky bastards. I went to UW River Falls and watched him play prior to his transfer, and the guy was a monster on the field. Off the field he was a pretty cool dude. Seattle lucked out in drafting him in the 5th round. Whoever starts at running back for them will be a perennial 1000 yard rusher if Owen is lead blocking for him. You can take that statement to the bank.

We're really going to miss Owen in our offense people dont relize how vital his role was hell we recruited 2 FB's to try and find one...it's just he was a H-back/Fullback and given short yardage Runningback, hell at one point las in the season slaton went down he was our 2nd RB on the depth chart he steped in and ran for 112 yrds 2 td's the guy can play..and play hard and will do Whatever's asked of him and do it damn well

R. Johnson's 4.1 YPC is very average and he plays for one of the best offenses in the league and had an above average O-line to boot. If you put Evans or Alstott in that offense as the featured runner at HB they would average about 4.5 YPC IMO. Alstott averaged 3.9 YPC in his prime behind bad O-lines and with an unimpressive passing game (Sean King for instance) to compliment him & w/o a lead blocker. He was used mostly to protect a lead when they knew the Bucs were running or in 3rd and short.

How about the case of Heath Evans? He was bigger, stronger and faster than Rudi Johnson and posted a better YPC running the ball w/o a lead blocker at Auburn, yet had to beef up to block for Johnson. Auburn originally asked Johnson to consider playing FB, but he refused. Evan ran a 4.5 out of H.S. In his one start in the NFL at HB, Evans rushed for 4.5 YPC. R. Johnson's career average is 4.1 YPC. Evans could be a great cutback power-runner, (he's got a great burst) if given a chance in the NFL.

Jackflash mentioned Tim Shaw. The guy ran a 4.44 out of H.S & was Michigan's all time career H.S rushing leader and ran for 10 YPC. Draftdaddy said he could have been a better version of Brian Leonard. At Penn State after 13 carries for 59 yards he was switched to LB. Shaw himself was shocked.

BTW: Lumsden ran for 7.6 YPC behind arguably the CFL's worst o-line (9 YPC before his nagging shoulder injury) The CFL has higher talent on average than Div. IA football b/c it's a pro league. Lumsden runs a 4.43 40, so he is faster than your average NFL RB. He has more than size going for him!

The ability of white skill players to measure up in the short shuttle (whites have about 1/2 the top times and the Combine record; nfldraftscout), vertical leap (about 1/3 the top jumps), 3-Cone (about 1/2 the top times) and by my research on average only lose about .05 in the 40 yard shows whites are discriminated against. This is even with whites beefing up and switching to LB like Tim Shaw did at Penn State. Running the 3-Cone and Short shuttle takes amazing burst and agility.

Hass is as fast or faster than J. Rice and I. Bruce and plays a very similar game in style to Rice and Bruce. Hass was uncoverable against the top CBs in college. There has never been a player in NFL history that's made a roster that has run a sub 10 electronic timed 100 meter. Few NFL players have world class speed.

Another bias in the media is the over-inflation of average 40 times. A bad 40 time was given as a reason why Mike Hass who ran a 4.59 and 4.56 at the Combine and Pro Day wasn't drafted till the 6th rd. despite being the Biletnikoff award winner as college's best WR in the same conference as Reggie Bush. Yet the avg. 40 time for WRs at this yrs. NFL combine was 4.58. (ie Draftdaddy blog) Looking at NFLdraftscout I noticed around 6 or 7 WRs every year drafted higher than Hass w/ slower 40 times.

Coaches are conservative and don't go against the grain and bring in a white HB or WR b/c they will get questioned about it and fans love to make fun of white players athleticism "tight hipped" "can't jump." Universities prefer to give their athletic scholarships to blacks at as high a rate as possible b/c they feel a guilt complex over the socio-economic and black academic underachievement gap between white and black, which I agree is a problem.

Vick was a cellar dweller in completion percentage while in the league, and he never could consistently lead his team to victory and he was often injured. Thats what he did. Crouch never got the same opportunity to start at his natural position QB/RB. Many players like Brandon Hancock were converted to FB in college or used as such but were actually RBs. UAB is a lot better competition than Northwest Missouri State's Xavier Oman who was drafted today. Lumsden is better than quite a few NFL RBs.

Incredible talents is laughable,
I said NFL Caliber, guys that could start in the NFL at runningback, none of those guys were, if they were they would be starting.
I didn't ask you to just name every white running back you could, i asked for every white running back that could start in the NFL over a black one at the position.
none of those guys could, and thats why they aren't.
