I came looking for some nostalgia, wanting to see some Dale Sr highlights. I am shocked and disappointed by the lack of them, other than the "pass in the grass" and a few others(this one is a good one though). I don't want to watch Dale's death any more times. Yes, it happened, and was there for all to see, but there are too many videos where that is the focus, or on junior. Wish there were more on Dale's best moments. He was just a phenomenal driver that made the sport worth watching.
Man, I'll never forget this guy. The way he finished this race, 17 spots in 4 laps, The guy could race. no doubt. Earnhardt was a one- of- a kind racer, and I sure as hell won't forget him.:)
Thanks for the good times, intimidator, As the Goodwrench #3 will never be forgotten. :)
Gives me chills every time I watch it. I know Junior hasn't exactly lived up to his father's legacy but every time I see him qualify well, like for this weekend's Daytona 500, I always hold that small flame for him. That small, shining glimmer of hope that maybe, just maybe, this time will be the charm.
I could watch this over and over, just isn't the same without Sr. Look how many wide (4) with no wrecks just alot of bumping for lap after lap. You know Sr. Looking down at them racing and saying what a bunch of tools, and just laughing his ass off, and little pissed off at Jr.
if someone would have installed a air bag in his car he would not have died becuase he died of hitting his head way way to hard on the stearing wheel andand aginst a bar
No he didn't die like that. If his head would have hit the steering wheel he would have survived but his head missed the steering wheel because he hit the wall at an angle and his head went to the right of the steering wheel past it and it stretched his neck so far it broke it. His body was strapped in but his head wasn't restrained so his head kept going. Ya can't put airbags in the steeringwheel, best thing is the hans head and neck restraint system.
I was there when The Great won his final race!! The stands were moving up and down as he crossed the line!! Fan or not, he was the best thing Nascar ever had, and now....well not sure what direction the sport is going???
he was a hell of a driver R.I.P Dale Earnhardt i liked how tim and dale were friends n could rub out on the track and keep going like nothing happened both great drivers
I LOVED WATCHING NASCAR WHEN HE WAS AROUND and even for a bit after when jr stepped up and was doing good but even now hes no good i watch about 15 laps of each race now just to check how far back jr is then go back to something more interesting
This is Nascar racing at it's finest- note that they don't wreck until after the checkers- No stupid yellow line rule that takes away wins from guys like Regan Smith which will probably never have a chance like that ever again.
AMAZING!!!! That was an exciting race!!!ITs amazing the show these guys can put on i mean Earnhardt 18 spots in 4 laps to win it!!!! I mean how can ppl find this not interesting u cant tell me that that was amazing!!! Talladega has great racing switching leaders left and right!!! I have to make sure i watch the race on sunday!!!!
This is why there has never been and will never be a driver as GREAT as Mr Earnhardt was! From 17th to checkers in LESS THAN FOUR LAPS! You wouldn't put it in a movie script cause no one would believe it would ever happen in real life. Mr E.... LARGER THAN LIFE!
'DALE' to Make Its Television Debut on CMT in an Exclusive Limited Run...
ONLY AUTHORIZED FILM ON RACING LEGEND DALE EARNHARDT TO PREMIERE ON TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 4 AT 8 PM ON CMT.
DALE will encore at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 5 and Thursday, Sept. 6, with those being the only additional scheduled airings of DALE on CMT prior to the film's release on DVD next year.
You are so right! I was never a racing fan but if I had known what would happen to Dale I would have gone to a race just to see him race Now racing is nothing but a pussy sport, unfortunately. Tony Stewart is the only one left who really races. Everyone else just does ballet.
The end of the 2001 Talladega Spring race was about as exciting as this. I have it on tape but unfortunately I don't have the means to put it on my computer.

I am not saying that we will never see great racers again through history of Nascar but we will never have a racer what Earnhardt sr was.

@MrJamef Back then neck straps were not mandatory. If he would of worn it he would still be alive.
