I did not know Mellencamp was a Commie. I thought he was for America and stuff. I'm sure the farmers love being told what to do by the Government, How much to grow, what they can and can't grow.

That's why he does what Johnny Cash did, sing songs advocating for the poor and middle class. If he was a Republican he'd sing songs praising big agribusiness and corporations like Wal Mart that have sold the American Dream to the lowest bidder, communist China.

back in the 80s when the record company made him use the name john cougar a lot of people thought that was a bad ass name. lol but i guess when a name is forced on you i can understand why he dumped the cougar part. but its still a cool nick name though. lol godbless.

Wheebill, have to agree with you. I love John's music since the 80's, including the new stuff. But most of his political views pain me. However, he's one of a few acts I'll pay to see in concert. He puts on a great show.

Great clip, thanks for posting! I am a big fan of Mellencamp and love this album. I also like Harry Smith he is one of the country's better newscasters. He is not your typical younger mannequin newscaster so common today he is a smart guy with actual thoughts, you know he's cool if he likes Mellencamp.
