  • Margaret Toscano, like her husband, Paul, doesn't get it. She is angry and frustrated and bitter. And nothing at all that is true about God can be said from a position of defense.

  • This woman is amazing! I would love to just sit and talk with her for hours!

  • her little spiel about the temples is right on. I live in a small town with a temple on top of hill, so you can see it from anywhere in town. Mormons worship the temple (or Temple Marriage) as an idol, almost the same way they worship Joseph Smith or God, but of course not Heavenly Mother.

"To take Gods name in vain, means to use the name of God to force people to do things that are not really God's will."

  • Amen! Amen! "If we have a real Heavenly Mother she'd be willing to take the shit!" Around the 25:00 she's talking about Heavenly Mother and it's powerful!

  • I never could understand why the church is so against questions - after all the church itself was founded on a farm boy in New York asking some very serious questions - many of which he'd be ex'd for in the modern day church.

  • "You can't have real faith if you aren't willing to explore your doubts."

The philosophy of my own Christian faith! I love Margaret's sincerity. I read books on Christianity that many Christians call "anti-Christian" because I feel a sense of honesty and truthfulness to them without interference from having a Christian faith.

  • Why is it that non-academic mormons cannot come up with an argument of their own? Why do they always spout off with things that other leaders have said before? Margaret Toscano is a wonderful woman an example of the fact that women have brains, God didn't make them without brains. The church created that. condition.

  • Outspoken? Hardly.

These are babies in the true Psychological Holocaust that Mormonism IS.

  • Not only is she right, she is a hero. It is VERY rare for a Mormon to speak out. I was one as well. I left the church and will never go back. I want to thank you deeply for your couage.

  • "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD."

I think it would good if we all would remember this more.

I am grateful that we can all express our thoughts. I do however think that this is painful to watch, she is wrong. I know that the the way the church has been established is God's way.

  • Of course she's wrong! Telling you what to feel and believe, that your beliefs are faulty, your morality is poor and your sins are condemnable. Imagine the gaul of her telling you that she KNOWS she's right about God's way! As if God just calls her up and tells her without a sliver of doubt that she -above all other cultures on this planet- only she KNOWS what God's way is.

Wait, Mrs. Toscano said none of those things. What kind of judgemental person could that have been if not her?

  • You're absolutely right, Endlessodyssey. Margaret Toscano is not telling anyone what to believe. She loves her Mormonism, even though she is no longer a member.

  • The Mormon Church is a fraud.

  • Exploitation of vulnerable people to promote an anti Mormon agenda is shameful.

  • Who exactly is she exploiting?

  • I have gone to a LDS church and a bible based church. Women with more freedom brought new struggles into my life. It takes the form of political ladder climbing and queen bee control groups. There is no sisterhood for me to lean on. I lean on God alone. No prophet.

  • In the bible there was a talented Martha and a spiritual Mary. Jesus loved them both, but we see at times Jesus had to rain Martha in a bit. But, there was a Deborah, a prophetess leading Israel. Few women are suited for that role becuase of the controling nature or the passsive nature. It was a call.

  • I've spoke of the LDS priesthood and the problems that I have with it here:

BTW- I love your POV, and your husband was my lawyer for filing some financial papers for me. You two keep it up! Thanks!

  • You Are so right Margaret!!!
