I worked for Andrew from around 1987 until 1992 when years of drug and alcohol abuse caught up to me and I ended up in recovery. Several years later I was diagnosed with Hep C which I realized I had contracted back in 1980. After Andrew cleaned up we stayed in contact although now it is through the occasional email. An incredible experience it was working as I did with Andrew. I learned a hell of a lot more about life than I did about how to produce records.
Good morning, do you like sixties? Listen and pod cast my program " great sound of 60' s " on the site plumfm. Greeting and made blooper in rock and roll.
Salut, vous aimez les sixties ? Ecoutez et podcatez mon émission "le super son des sixties" sur plum fm. Salut et faites gaffe au rock'n roll.
I am sure that Andrew was no angel when it came to business and paying royalties. Because of the people I know who followed in the succession of Immediate's assets, I know most of his sins. However, Andrew, did do something very nice for them. He alerted them of his companie's demise before it happened and connedted Jerry Moss, A& M records into the mix, which at least gave them a leg up on continuing their carear. Now Their US managers...there you may find no arguments from me!! Are U related?
Andrew is and always has been a "class act" Through his books and the internet I have been able to make contact with him and found him truly a valuable human being....He still has so much to say and do...he is a natural talent.
Dear Mrs Suratt, I can appreciate your statement, as I was a huge fan of the Small Faces as a kid and years later, as an adult, represented the Small Faces/ Faces (with Rod and Ronnie) - music publishing rights around the world. In addition I attempted many times to get involved and help Steve revitalize his recording carears through a number of highly successfull record producers that I represented as well. Unfortunately shortly after my last attempt, Steve died. I am sure
I never knew Mr. Oldham was so concerned and caring and open minded about helping those with the disease of alcohol and drug dependency. I've heard so much about him but never this noble aspect of his endeavors. Bravo!!! And thank you for your efforts sir...alden marin
You are right. We shoot the shit all the time. For the longest time I had no idea he was in recovery. I certainly did not know he had hep C. It is good for everyone to know he is taking care of himself with the help of his fam.
this is the first time after 45 years that I hear about Andrew's physical misfortune.
In 1967 I was running the ATLANTIC CITY CLUB in BREMEN and did the DJ-Job as well.A.L.Oldham came with Szeve Marriott and the SMALL FACCES who did BEAT CLUB TV SHOW in Bremen which I created originally in 1964 at Radio Bremen.
Best wishes and thank you for posting this talk with a genius of the 6oth- thank UUUUU
