  • Made this for my first ever juice tonight. My fiance couldn't stomach it so I got both servings. Our biggest thing is that it tastes extremely saltly, has anyone else gotten this result? About half of the ingredients were organic. I can handle it just fine, but it's certainly not my favorite thing in the world. Might try a little extra fruit or something to sweeten it up a little bit ... or to at least try to eliminate the saltiness. Suggestions??

  • @47927411D takes a bit of getting use to. i dont look at it as taste. who cares? if a doc gave me something to drink that would keep me healthy and it taste like garbage, id take it to prevent cancer, etc. its medicine. not food. must look at this this way

  • So I just tried this recipe and was surprised by my reaction - which was "eeeeeew!" I'm not sure if it's the Meyer lemon or ginger (my guy thinks it may be the latter). Nevertheless, I'm having a hard time getting it down. Kind of bums me out. : (

  • @blastofo I'd say that too much could be bad. Sure it's all healthy but living on it probably wouldn't be so good.

  • @ fngnation........You absolutely have to add GREEN vegies to your diet to get the protein you need. Also Cruciferous Vegies are known to fight fat....Cauliflower, brussel sprouts, kale, cabbage...etc.

  • I have a question. In the documentary, how many times a day did he drink a cup of juice? I'm taking on the challenge and I want to be prepared. I'm doing a 30 day challenge to lose 40lbs. I already lost 50lbs with proper diet and exercise but I need a change and I think will be it.

  • @Extellable He had it three times a day. I think that's even a bit extreme; he was in very poor health. You may not find it necessary to go that hard at it.

  • @mattamal1 I would say you could use any fruit or vegetable similar in nature to substitute the ones you can't eat. The fact is when you juice the fruits and vegs turns to liquids and aside from an allergy there should be no reason you can't have them.

    Apple and pears, peaches, mango, papaya are all similar. As for Cucumber, again any fruit or vegetables you see fit substituting will do, it really would make little difference overall. Try banana, broccoli, carrots, tomato.

  • Why would you peel the skin off the cucumber and ginger? That's the best part. The skin is full of vitamins and minerals. Leave it on. You're only juicing it anyways, not eating it.

  • Apples are the key. Apples are about the only fruit that can be added to most vegetable, the best fruit to mix with vegetable juices. It adds that little bit of sweetness to make the vegetable juices taste better. So try it.

  • I LOVE this juice (very similar to Dr. Oz' green juice) - along with your ingredients I add two handfuls of baby spinach, 1-red apple (depending if I want it a little sweet), but I LOVE the green apples w / it, 1/2 zucchini, parsley & lime - OMG, YUM!! I literally CRAVE this drink everyday. Also, the red drink: 1-beet, 2-apples (whether green or red) we like green w/ it, 3-carrots, ginger root (I like a lot) & parsley - SOOO GOOD! I've never felt healthier!! Thx for posting!

  • I was told that kale has something in it that can be harmful if consumed raw, and lightly cooking it helps to get rid of it. Does juicing it also get rid of it??  I want to eat more leafy greens, but the info says they are better cooked. Thoughts??

  • @conorsawyertv The kale is the healthiest part. It's everything *else* that makes it bearable (even "good", once you get used to it).

  • I was taking Lipitor to and since I have been juicing more and getting off of bread and potatoes and noodles I have not had to take any high blood pressure medicine nor cholesterol medicine. Another good documentary is fat sick and nearly dead and also forks over knives. You just have to try it for yourself and keep checking in with doctor to keep track on how you are doing. My doctor was amazed at my results.

  • Since I've been juicing, I've lowered my cholesterol levels and no longer take Lipitor. I juice every morning (carrot, apple & ginger) and afternoon for lunch (kale, lettuce,, cucumber; celery; apple and habanero pepper) or tomato juice (tomato, carrot, apple, red pepper, yellow pepper and lemon) and for dinner (cabbage, kale, cucumber, fennel, apple and beets) No more McDonalds for me! Fast food kills. That's why so many people are dying young from heart attacks because of clogged arteries.

  • I watched the documentary - Fat Sick & Nearly Dead, it has changed my life for the better I forgot to mention that it has made me lose weight to.

    It really works you should watch this documentary ....Try it, you won't regret it.

    I have lost weight without exercise it is a slow process when you don't exercise but this really does work. Makes your skin look healthy to, you really do glow with a healthy look. I don't have a big appetite anymore either.

  • Juicing is the best it has saved my life for real, It looks gross but it really isn't when you mix apples with it and other fruits if ya want like plums,nectarines,pear it will sweeten it up. I like to mix celery,carrot,kale,cucumber,ra­dish,pineapple,apples. A++++++ for health.

    I was able to get off of high blood pressure medicine and my doctor said wow your vitals look great wish all patients would do it I'd be out of a job.

    I do it every day, and drink lots of water.. you should try it.

  • its not great, but its not bad....it does fill ya up and at least its good you you, you can go eat your double baconator, and ill have this!

  • This doesn't taste bad, but my juicer turned out about 32oz of it. How many servings is this? How long will it last in the fridge? I drank it all at once and, I have to tell you, it wasn't easy. It wouls seem that 4 8oz glasses throughout the day would be better.

  • @sunamcm1 juice will be good for 24hrs in the fridge in an air tight container.... it is just fine to make your juice all at one time for the day..... BUT it is best if you make it and then drink it right away.... but most people can not do that...... i like to get 16 - 20 oz plastic water bottles with tops and put each serving in a separate bottle in the fridge so i can grab one and drink it when i need it through out my day.... you can also put them in a cooler for work

  • I made some of this in my new Breville juicer a few days ago. . . I am one of those people that can eat almost any food ..I like everything. I am trying to continue to drink it but I do not like the taste. I know its good for me and I will continue to drink it but does anyone have suggestions on how to keep it healthy and make it taste ??better? I love vegies. .

  • @Jamiev54 I just squeezed some lemon juice in there and made the taste somewhat better. Still doesn't taste great but it was defiantly easier to drink.

  • reduce size of ginger piece as could be harsh on stomach but the rest perfect..i use one apple and water and a piece of cucumber only...with whatever greens are avaliable...i soak the greens in the lemon overnight first so they are broken down a little before blending and drinking x

  • That is some wired looking Kale. At least it is like no Kale that I have ever seen, and I've been using kale in my restaurant for 15 years.

  • @bustfer07 ... yes you can use it for veggie burgers or veggie crackers or put in in soups ..... if you are on a juice fast only then you do not eat it... you also can use it for a compost pile.... or feed livestock like horses or cows, or feed bunnys... or leave it outside for local wildlife to eat

    4 stalks of celery

    1 cucumber -- (peel off skin)

    1 ginger root -- (thumb size - peel off skin)

    1/2 lemon -- (skin cut off)

    2 green apples

    6 kale leaves

  • @2316severitaln i drink one when i wake up in the morning.... then after that i drink a 16 - 20 oz juice every 3 hours.... say like 6am - 9am - 12 noon - 3pm - 6pm and my last at 9pm .....i drink 5-6 juice drinks a day ...

    you should drink 80% veggies & 20% fruits ...... green drinks are usually the most often used ... in the morning fruits are good... i like to have a fruit in the morning and as my last one at night. ALSO ... drink LOTS of water too......

  • @2316severitaln .... during a juice fast you can have only juice, water and green decaf tea or herbal tea......

    no adding milk or sugar ... and the fruits & veggies need to be fresh ONLY .. not frozen or canned or bottled

  • @landoc11 around 14 to 28 dollars an hour from what I have learned. Its cheaper if you have a farmer's market around.

  • @LocalFightCrew .... each drink is about 20 oz... I dink about 5 - 6 20 oz juice drinks a day on my juice fast.

    ... 3 - 4 of them are this one.... i start the day with a fruit juice then i go on to have this as my main meal of the day ... and then my last juice of the day i make it a fruit juice drink.... i feel great , i have lot of energy , and i am NOT hungry at all.... i am also losing a lot of weight with this too !!!!!

He stated drinking juice on a regular basis would allow you to live past 100 years old. Sadly, Norman Walker died AT THE AGE OF 119! It's a known fact drinking juices like this or even fruit juices which are delicious!!! Help your body clear itself of toxins, heal, etc. Look up the movie trailer mentioned in this video. Or Google "Gerson Therapy" all proven!

    Speak for yourself dude. I tried this for three days and couldn't do it anymore. I came dangerously close to throwing up after drinking this juice, not because it's not good for you, but because it's just disgusting.

  • @fngnation He did not live to 119 or anywhere even remotely close to it. This has long been debunked. He made it to 99. And 99 ain't nothin' to sneeze at! It's incredible enough, we don't need to go with the phony figure. That being said...juicing works and everyone should do it.

  • @SubliminalTwin Also 3 glasses a day isn't very much. You should watch the documentary Fat Sick and Nearly Dead. The point of a juice diet is not to be hungry, but to listen to your body and be satiated. On some days you might require 8 to 10 glasses of juice a day to stay full, other days you might only need 3 or 4. Don't starve yourself though.
