Authors isn't a very bright game idea. If somebody's watching a comedy programme on Chanel 4, it's not quite certain that they'll be so ridiculously well-read as to know so many of the authors thrown at them.
@raddaluigi Maybe true, but personally I feel embarrassed if I don't know many of the authors, and so I go and read some of their work! If I'm not alone in that, then I think Authors is a brilliant game!
I think poor betty was screwed from the get go, first she came after Tony in Authors... poor dear, that would have been hard to follow. Then she was pared with Sessions for F&TS. He was hystarical in it but hardly let her say anything!! I'm sure that she is funny and good at improv.. but she was over shadowed in this episode (I think) she never came back on.
Authors... the thinking person's improv. It's actually rather funny if you READ as much as you watch Videos. As for the American version... slicker and more 'polished' but as for content no where near the Brit version.
Although John Sessions is great in the last one, I keep getting the feeling that he's just a little bit too expansive. Betty seems to be a bit lost, and usually, when she tries to speak he is halfway through a monolouge or starts one without giving her much chance...
Save us all.... from the British sense of humour. So confusing. Guess if they understand and like it ...thats all that matters for them. The American Who's Line is it Anyway.... is more hilarious.
Yep! He's awesome! I love how you could see him in the audience on the first episode. I have a mini freak out moment when I read the comment about it. =]
He's my favorite and I'm glad to find out that I don't have to wait long to see him since I'm watching all the episodes in chronological order, just to make sure I didn't miss any. He looked really good in this episode! He still looks good today! ^_^
LOL that lady behind Clive's shirt just says WET

No matter how funny Sessions is, I'll never get over that bullshit smug look he's always wearing.

@RainBirdLori wholeheartedly agreed! there is an absurd amount of censorship in the US version also.. kind of defeats the purpose of improv eh?

@LoveMokes I'm American, I like it, I understand it. Maybe you have the issues, not the humor (besides, you spelled humor the British way)

i hate to sound mean but the authors game is boring.
MsJup1ter 1 year ago
@MsJup1ter
it would be more impressive if I was well read in all the authors styles they are parodying.
That is the fundamental flaw in that game. You need to be as well read as the performers, which is just not the case with all the viewers :(

@MsJup1ter I kind of agree

Clive cuts in too early, doesn't really let the actors get going...
I've watched WLIIA US to the end and now started with this. It's taking a little getting used to not having colin, ryan and wayne on stage:)

Look how trim and clean Tony is in his first appearance. He was always funny, but he was much more put together in the first couple of years.
