If you are talking about codec to upload to youtube, i recommend x.264. If you are talking about the codec to record live, well raw would be best but would fill your your harddrive in an hour. if you can x264 is still a good option for recording the actual footage.

Joup gefällt mir, allerdings ist der Codec nich so besonders Flüssig probier bei Vegas (denke du verwendest das) mal den: XDCAM EX HQ 1280*720-60p Der ist echt nice allerdings musst du dann bei 1:30 ca 225 MB rechnen :) aber lohnt sich ^^ gruß Bignick141

Maybe its just the video, but even at 720p your graphics settings look worse than on console and your fps looks like its all over the place in parts...

So recording @ PC: You have to find the right graphic settings for recording with fraps WITHOUT laggs and for this you often have to choose lower settings because with high settings there would be many lags ingame. So when you really want to record with the highest graphic settings and the beste options in fraps, you need a really really really good pc who can do this

Recording @ Console: You need a dvd recorder or an other adapter... and it records exactly what you see on the screen

@phiLisfaction Well I knew this already. Maybe its just because I have a good enough PC that no game I have tried I need to lower my graphics settings. Plus if you know what your doing with games like BF3, COD, CSS, etc. Then you can just use the console command /record #name# and it will record your game. Then at main menu type /demo #name# and it will play back your game so you can add in all the graphics options you want. I thought this was common knowledge amongst PC gamers??

Oh thanks I know it :D But you dont think that when you record the playing demo (which isnt a mp4 file as you know) with fraps it will still lag if the settings are to high?

@phiLisfaction Try a program called DXTORY its much better for recording than fraps. Also recording to a separate HDD is a must also, this helped improved my recording when I used fraps a hell of a lot :)

I dont record so I dont know the best programms... but I know that 4cid is recording with fraps and maybe not to a separate HDD... I just wanted to solve the thing between PC and Console recording ;)

That is cod, its way different :) 60 fps in css does not look very smooth imo but almost even 40fps in BF3 is playable, its from game to game imo.
