Lobster's don't feel pain, they can only feel movement, because of the way their nervous system is designed. So it's not really cruel. As long as you eat them and don't kill for fun it's just natural.

3. First boil the water until it really have about 100°C
4. Take the lobster an stick it headfirst in the water
then you can be sure that the lobster die instant because the brain oft the animal is only 2-4 milimeters unter the shell

Boiling the lobster makes it rubbery.
I steam the lobster.
Never kill the lobster before you steam it. The lobster isn't supposed to die before it enters the pot, the number one rule.
You will know if it's done when the antennas are easy to pull off.
I live in Nova Scotia , and we eat Lobster alot , at least in Cape Sable Island.

nobody ever said anything about the food chain or us humans being on top of the food chain. we're just stating the fact to hear something screaming as it is dieing is cruel, whether you're a vegan, vegetarian, or a regular meat eater, it is cruel. we're higher on the food chain than the cows we eat, but i know most of you couldn't take watching a cow being cut up, but they don't scream when they are doing it. I do eat lobster occasionally at Red Lobster, but I will never cook one.

Im a 'lobster virgin' tonight i'll be cooking it for the 1st time. I respect views of all who have posted, though this seems to have turned into a a 'free the lobster' campaign ! All I can say is.. I hope mine tastes yummy ( sorry to offend ) but Im higher up the food chain than the little blighter Im eating is. Lobster's don't feel pain, they can only feel movement, because of the way their nervous system is designed. So it's not really cruel. As long as you eat them and don't kill for fun it's just natural.

Of course every animal we eat is dead - the point here though is that while you may cook lobsters in boiling water, if you watch the video, the lobster was put in water that wasn't boiling i.e. cooked slowly until it boiled, which is totally wrong. That's not having a 'holy attitute' for god's sake.

And lobsters have extremely primitive nervous systems, they have a nerve inside of them. The lobster is covered in thousands of tiny hairs, when the hairs move the nerve senses the movement, because of this Lobsters do not feel pain. Besides even if they did they are so delicious I wouldn't mind. Just because something can feel, doesn't mean it can feel pain. Some people cannot feel pain, this sounds awesome until you realize that they would have to regularly check for injury.

I come from the great british hunting, shooting, fishing tradition and have no problem with killing animals for food. It must be done in a humane manner though. Lobsters should be killed by dropping them into boiling water. The water in this video is not boiling when the lobster is dropped into it. Look...there is no steam coming out of the pot and the guy is well aware of it not boiling. He should be ashamed.

Chickens get thier heads cut off, steer get their necks cut, lobsters and crabs get dropped in boiling water. If you eat meat, animals are dieing. So get over your holy attitudes that boiling lobster is not humane.
