  • anyone know what the two covered songs are?

  • For those who want to find more about the true story behind Chris McCandless, here's a link to the write-up of the documentary The Call of the Wild by its maker, which states all facts:

    tifilms[dot]com/wild/call_debunked.htm

I consider The Call of the Wild to be even better than Into the Wild by the way, it's way more truthful to the story which allows it to have an even more powerful message.

  • @ParaSoar Ah, yes I agree. I was shocked to know so much that wasn't in Penn's film!

People, go watch "The Call of the Wild" by Independant film maker Ron Lamothe if you want to know more about Chris McCandless' story!

  • Chris was certainly an inspirational person, his view on life ignites a desire that's inside all of us to experience life to the fullest before we die. It's too bad though that Into The Wild and the book, while still great, don't show some very important facts. For example, he didn't die of poisoning but simply of starvation, and he did have money on him as well as several ID's AND a MAP!

It's all explained in the documentary called The Call of the Wild, made simultaneously with Into the Wild.

  • Eddie's music was perfect for this movie! I've seen it twice, and will most likely end up getting a copy for my personal collection.

  • The film was good, not great, just goo. The soudntrack was superb, real music, and the best stuff Eddie has done. being in a band never suited Eddie he is an individual not a team member.

  • Should have sold more. That album is great

  • Eddie Vedder wrote some good songs for this film~excellent songs. I think he deserved more recognition for it in the way of awards~

  • Amazing soundtrack i'd go as far as to say its actually better than the pearl jam stuff although i know not many will agree, Really wish the track lengths were longer though! you just get into it and its over, really hope eddie decides to realease a version of longer takes

  • @rjfoster2 : totally agree! incredibly fitting music by Eddie V.

  • hey! could anyone please write down what Eddie says between 1:28 and 1:33? I'm not a native speaker of English and it's hard to understand Eddie :/

  • @Przyspiew " this young man is probably the last guy that would ever want a movie written uhh you know made about him...... maybe"

  • @Nuknuktokz thanks man! :)

  • @Przyspiew Thisyonmanisproblythlesguythatwoulefferwunermoviewrittun... uh, yaknow, medabbathem... maybe."

  • You watch this movie, and don't question some part or all of your life. You aint human!

  • Long Nights, Society and Guaranteed are the best ever :D

  • Just watched it again last night, and it made me cry - always a good sign !

  • So uplifting and heartbreaking at the same time. Thank you Sean, Emile, Hal and Eddie. You guys told a wonderful story that we can all take so much away from.

  • Best movie I've seen in a long time... really made my thoughts going crazy...

  • i loved the movie and i loved the musice it changed my life...

  • God I miss the American wilderness.

  • what 2 songs are they talking about that are COVERED on his sound track album??

  • hard sun is a cover of an INDIGO song.

not sure about the other one

  • the other one is Society, it was written by Jerry Hannan

  • hard sun was originally done by the band17 queens(ed's version is better) and i dont no the other one

  • Society and Hard Sun are covers. The rest is Vedders writing.

  • society is one of them

  • Hard Sun and Society...

  • deep,,,,not!

  • Shit, Penn really sounds like I Am Sam

  • He went full retard... Never go full retard man!

  • But Sean make make make makes me hahhhappy ....

  • Man Vedder and Penn must have really done alot of drugs by the way they sound when they talk!

  • I don't hear anything wrong with their voice

but shit, if drugs are going to make me as amazing as Eddie Vedder, then I'm going to drop some acid.

  • nice ass nigga

  • Yo2boshne!!

  • ridiculous comment :D

  • Pearl Jam Forever!!

  • Just saw this movie today. Great movie and Vedders music really blended well with the movie.

  • I haven't seen the movie - am a little afraid of it, in a way, since the book made such an impression on me - and Vedder's soundtrack fits perfectly with it (no, I'm not a rabid Pearl Jam fan, R.E.M. has that dubious honour). Hope this doesn't come off as spam: check out Krakauer's books, they're worth the read.

  • figgady fine Vedder!

  • Good man, Vedder is a good man. Even Kurt Cobain liked him, but hated Pearl Jam to say the least. I dont agree, I like Pearl jam. Eddie is cool.

  • It should have had some post-rock too.

  • eddie vedder doesn't seem to age. what's up with that?

  • Yes, he has been ageing, but in a good way ;)

  • i think he ages just fine noob. How old are you? I seen him in 1991 you prolly were in pull ups then but maybe he ages just like everyone else and your just blind? either way look at an old photo. :P He ages, he is NOT immortal

  • Jesus, relax. I said that about him as a COMPLIMENT. I would love to hear someone say that I hardly age, because I'M 32! Pull-ups in '91, ha ha! I wish.

  • Surfing keeps you young!

  • life is too short, don't vaste it

    go to the beach..happy surfing!

check 'SIMA Waterman's Ball 07 - Eddie Vedder, part 1' video for amazing relaxed Eddie.. Eddie at his best :)

  • THANK you!

I appreciate your sharing this with us :)

  • Why don't you go jerk off to your Ronnie Reagan poster?

  • Well actually the term "galvanized" has several English meanings, one of which reads: to arouse to awareness or action; stiumulate. It does not take a brilliant wordsmith to decipher what Eddie was talking about, both in reference to this term as well as his statement about the "screaming" book. It is quite clear that you are not privy to the widespread relativity and dynamic dimensions to the use of language.

  • @soldynamiks i think yer takin things a little too seriously. sounds like you're a lonely english major

  • Wayne,

Very poor comment bud. Please read the book. This should provide you with enough information to make a comment on this clip that isn't painfully ignorant. Also, please leave Kurt Cobain on the shelf. He gets more than enough credit for saving us from, if you can fathom, a dreadful hangover of watered down hair metal. Ok Wayne, get yourself a library card and email me with a new response. Best of luck.

  • Eddie Vedder is the man!

  • it's the best man !

  • "Can't find a Better man" haha

  • LOOOOL

    Good =P

    Pearl Jam <3

    Eddie Vedder The Best =)
