He pretty much died with a smirk on his face and to think he would even allow the possability of being killed he is a true friend to Mello. I think he is the most popular character even though he isn't seen much. I love Matt and no one can change that. Great video^&^
My theory is that Matts vest was actually bullet proof so when he 'died' everyone went back to their cars and brummed off then Matt saved Mello... some how, and the both drop kicked Takada and her head fell off, then they went into hiding and had man babies ^ 3^
The bodyguards behind him and to his left and right could've seen his gun in his vest. Maybe that's why they shot him. Maybe the guy called him stupid for reaching for the gun instead of for kidnapping Takada. Either way, I'm glad Takada got killed off. Not particularly happy about Mello's death, though.

I love the scene in the anime about Matt's death... Here's this character who we really only know about from his appearance, a very typical Japanese-looking kid, suddenly in the middle of a scenario that's very much like something in a game-- but it's real, which throws the "image" ideals of culture into question, vaguely hinting that something is messed up when we confuse games and reality.
i kinda expected him to pull out a nintendo as he got shot and played the game till he died O.O
