i own the same model just candy apple red colored- it is a great bass for the money you pay for it. Sounds great for just about every kind of music, has a great slap tone and the combination is interesting... it is actualy a precision bass with jazz pickups and that is the thing that made me fall in love with it.... i have never seen Fender's instruments with that setup so it must be Squiers invention :-DDD i played a lot of awsome instruments but this one will always be special for me
i have this exact same bass. i love it. sounds great with my line6 amp and even my small 20 watt hartke. cant find much info on it. only ever seen 1 so i bought it. sounds good for just about everything!!!
i have that bass, the neck pickup is precison precision, i´m not sure about the bridge pickup. It can be a precision doesn´t matter how it looks like, the fact that is a stright single coil doesn´t mean it´s a jazz
That looks like a Jazz with a Precision neck. Jaco used that set up for practice. He said the Precision was harder to play so if he practiced with a Precision neck it helped him play the Jazz better.

its called a precision bass cause it has a p bass body, just like mark hoppus's signature bass is called a jazz bass even though it has p bass pick ups and a p bass neck
I'd sell my firstborn for one of these things.
Ok, maybe not my firstborn, but I want one really really bad!

The color is Shoreline Gold. I found mine at a Guitar Center used. It is heavy and solid - a good bass IMO.

Its a P bass folks with 2 jazz style pickups. Look at the body, it doesn't have the offset waist shape of a jazz bass.

Are these Squire 5 strings hard to find or are they made regularly?
aceshigh125 2 years ago
@aceshigh125 they are not in production any more so they can be a bit hard to find, used guitar stores or eBay are the places to look.

Look at the shape of the body back at the bridge. P is round follows the line of the bridge, J is a bit off. like this P --> I II J --> / II
Mafutinuser 2 years ago
I wouldn't call it a P-Bass anymore since it has J pickups in it.

True; in fact it's only got the pickguard of a precision...
