The stiletto is incredible !! The best one of this video (my taste...) Good job, it's so easy to appreciate the tone of each amp with this test. Thanks
listened to this few times and honestly I'm blown away with the preamps, the marshall jmp-1 sounds nice and tight, but holy smokes that ADA MP1 just sounds so dense and rich without the usual trashiness that comes with with pushing 12ax7/ECC83's too far, I WANT ONE NOW!!!
Let me put it this way. My main amp at the moment is the Mesa Stiletto Deuce II. I rarely turn on the rack stuff nowadays. my 2nd choice would be the ADA MP-1. I'm thinking of possibly selling the Triaxis and maybe the JMP-1 as i never really use them much and want either an Engl SE or maybe a Mesa Mark IV or V (when it comes out)
try doing it with the volume cranked a little more to get the sound of the power tubes to come through instead of just preamp distortion. try running the dual rec at 50 watts and flipping the switch to spongy instead of bold. also flatten the eq and all other parameters (if you didnt do that already).
the dual rectifier has to much cut for this song. red does half decent, the stiletto although i like the amp, is a little to tight for classic rock, old music needs a bit of room to breath, I think the JMP 1 with the mesa poweramp would be a good combo. The triaxis is a good setup as well, all together they create a well rounded sound. Marshall mixed with Mesa ftw
good tone is subjective, but I vote for the Stiletto, at least when it comes to playing Ramones tunes. Or even all out versatility in playing blues to modern metal (with an EQ in the loop to boost the lows). I had a few Dual Recs, but they never really had a great clean or lead tone.
I really like this demo. I think this song is going to be stuck in my head for the rest of my life now. LOL. I really like the Stiletto Deuce II. The ADA 3TM sounded good too. However, the Triaxis sounded like the thunder of the gods. Damn. Also, how did you overdub all of the difference amps. Did you re-record all of the parts over the song, or did you re-amp the samp part or what. Great demo
amazing!!

I'm thinking about buying a used ADA MP 1
is it any good for thrash metal stuff?
shreddeth7 3 years ago
I don't see why not. Especially after a 3TM mod.
it has more gain than anyone would ever need.
listen to all the bands in the late 80's. a whole heck of a lot of them were using MP1's.

I played each amp separately to the same song. then when finished, output each amp separately. then just mixed them all down.
