  • The deer didn't like this video.

    I did though :)

  • more sks hunting videos!

  • What kind of scope is that?

    Is that a Chinese SKS?

I had a Russian SKS buy in 1987 $69.00 and shoot few thousands of round and did not know how the feel of miss fire??

Good rifle and power over M-16 (5.56x45mm) BY FAR!

In Vietnam, when you hear 3-5 AK-47 open fire, you must shaking because even 5 M-16 open fire you can tell "UNDER POWER" compare to that AKs!

  • Nice, what kind of scope mount did you use?

  • nice deer man and sweet rifle i love the custom pistol grip lol

  • Congrats on the deer!

  • What's better HP or sp for hunting and I have not put a scope on my sks because I hear it moves allot does it

  • @TheHunting66 the reciever cover scope mounts do move around uinless you modify them to fit your rifle like a glove. Even so, I put an one on my Norinco sks without modification and it shot 4" or less at 100yds

  • What's better to hunt with I all ways use HP but I have used sp and I haven't put a scope on my sks because I hear they move around allot

  • To bag the deer, what type of ammo did you use? HP? SP? FMJ?

  • @TriggerJunkie I used a 123 grain Winchester soft point. I have also used 125 grain Remington SP and Federal SP. Hornady is now selling a polymer tip, the SST that is performing pretty good, but I am old school enough to stick with the SP.

  • @TriggerJunkie Its illegal to hunt with a FMJ round

  • I'm buying an SKS I'd like to hunt with. Alot of people were saying "wow why would you even think about that! The round is too small!" and blah blah! This video made me happy. Though I have a nice 30-30 I can use. And the SKS isn't the poor mans rifle when you could buy a Yugoslavia Mauser with way better accuracy and larger bullet for $200.

  • @TheSilas324 A 30-30 is great gun and has probably historically taken more deer than any other round out there. The 30-30 and the 7.62x39 do have some ballistic similarities, they are both great rounds but they do have there limits in range. I will not hunt with my SKS where I have the option of taking a shot over 100 yards although I have shot it at the range out to 300 yards. If you are hunting at longer ranges obviously there are better choices. The SKS is a fun gun to hunt with!

  • @TheSilas324

Here in North America corporations what you to buy very expensive ammo people brain wash that all

  • @TheSilas324 Who said 7.62x39 is a "small round"?

7.62x39 is an AK rounds . In Vietnam, a team of 3 VC with AK-47 open fire same time when helicopter fly low can bring that Huey down for sure

    - 7.62x51 = .308 every one knew this round I not need to say

    - 7.62x54R this round can go thru M-113 to kill the whole group of our soldiers inside that tank. In Vietnam and Africa we used this round to kill Water buffalos and elephants

    - 7.62x54R using for sniper, for anti-aircraft .

  • @MTbackpacker86 No mods to the catch. You do have to grind the mag where the trigger assembly connects to it to make it detachable and you have to figure out the correct alignment of the parts before you tack weld it.

  • Great flat shooting brush gun. Poor mans deer rifle works everytime.

  • @nickblackburn78 Prices keep going up. Upwards of 350 to get a decent SKS these days.

  • i just bought a WASR-10 ak47 7.62x39. Im hunting with it this year, This video gave me some confidence.

  • @DJSpiderwebz It is all about confidence in your rifle. If you know your gun shoots good don't give up on the track even if you find no blood. I made a shot last year and the buck ran off...no blood trail...but I was confident in my gun and shot placement, kept on looking recovered a great 8 point buck. Go to my youtube channel and check out the vid of the 8 point buck from 2010

  • Only thing missing is the bayonette and the grenade launcher.

Nice gun, nice shot, nice deer!

  • @cntrtop Thanks!

  • this is exactly what i needed to see cause I use my SKS but never killed anything. so always wanted to know what it would do to a deer.

  • @adhdtexas I think it is all about shot placement. Know your gun and know your capabilities before you make a shot. Thankfully I have recovered every deer that I have shot with my SKS. Good Hunting!

  • Wish I could use mine in Ohio.
