This song played the first night I met a really special football player from Ole Miss. I remember thinking "Can he really be this beautiful?", and he was. TheNewsoul2, my husband and I enjoy your site. We thank you for sharing this video. It brings back good/funny memories. One we will never forget was when we won a talent contest by singing this song. To make a long story short, both of our families are musically inclined, that's where our passion for music roots from. We both attended Howard University and was in the same vocal class. We got the opportunity to meet the maestros Roberta Flack/Richard Smallwood. Both are so beautiful in many ways.

@troyxaviermom ...they said he commited suicide. Donnie, is another mega superstar gone too soon! He was only 34 years old when his life was cut short. In1979, a very dear friend of mine name Curt, and I sang this song and won a talent show contest. We miss you Donnie...RIP.

This song has so much reach. I am a white rocker from the 70's but this is the song I always turned the lights down low to :-).......ah yes this was my mood setting song and it worked like a charm every time.
One of my all time favorite songs.
