  • Thanks very much for posting this vid..Exelent work!

  • I have to say, however well intentioned this guy is, he totally misses the point. He's trying to play the role of saviour and comes across as an apologist and indulges in feelings of self-pity. Everyone is a dumbass really and having to hear this simple minded diatribe is more annoying than any new ager could ever be. Just shut up and let the medicine speak for itself. What an ego!! Totally misses the big picture. I empathize with the "Indians" but this guy is just terrible. had to say that

  • Wow that was harsh! But really, I agree with most of his views about the way it can be abused and how people can screw things up (in particular how Burroughs missed the point) but really who knows better: the mind/ego or the universe? The universe. Whose to say what''s right or wrong? You? Me? the best the mind can do is say "I don't know". Word to your mother :)

  • Thank you for this excellent video--I have lived quite awhile in Peru and seen many of the disappointed gringos you refer to, looking for something outside of themselves and affecting the

indigenous cultures in the process. I don't know if all the effects are necessarily bad, but--as you said, people are just people everywhere, and it is wise, and polite, to tread cautiously when you are visiting another person's home.

Loved the analogy about the cowboys.

  • This is one of THE most powerful and important videos I have ever seen!!

  • Indeed. Also go and see what Jacques Mabit has to say about the myth of justice and the myth of love. Very wise words. I immediately forwarded that today after seeing it. Some pieces I couldn't grasp and put into words myself, but intuitively knew fell into place in the puzzle.

  • @11hunabku11 WOW I have just begun listening to one of his videos /watch?v=TKFy7pCL5fw This is VERY interesting. haven't got time to view now but it means very serious research. Ie., what does entheogens mean for us now.

One one level yes we have to respect their tribal ways, but ALSO find OUR own ways which cannot involve that sense of fear of outsiders. See what I mean?

  • @zezt This means that we really have to explore. I am not talking about running to Eastern mysticism, but something completely new. Something that completely embraces nature, but sees that we cannot have enemies, because we especially have seen what this escalatation of fear does--with our technology etc?

  • @zezt Yes, I saw that one yesterday. Extremely insightful! I'm looking for part 3 on the vocation and freedom.

  • He probably lost his girlfriend to a LA surfer-type and now generalises about all white/Western people that wants to learn about shamanism and take ayahuasca.

  • You seem to think I am not a white westerner who wants to learn about shamanism and take ayahuasca. But I am all of the above. Do you know what continent Spain is in?

  • You're dealing with some not-very-bright, wannabe shamans.

  • It is individual.

  • You need to understand that this is individual. There are medicine people who are self absorbed and those who are here to offer their gifts, just as there are those here to take advantage of them "and" those who respect them. I have worked with people in the past and assisted one person out of a coma who was to die within the hour. Never have I expected anything in return. You mention...."They Can Make More In Week?" That is the begining of the end. Not my fault!

  • I agree with you 100%. I saw you in Iquitos: interesting presentation.

  • i can understand being misuing the plants... however someone having to use curse words to express their frustrations with misuse of plants isn't very enlightening. This fellow is a fine example of conservative attitude. That's fine for him. But I do not follow this path. I respect you for you, and I am me. That is that.

  • gringo is derogatory btw - thats like calling black people negros - i find this video offensive

  • When he says grigo, he is also calling himself a gringo. And his profile is called "legitimate whitie". He isn't saying anything offensive about his own race (white). He's just questioning our contemporary use of traditional cultures as another tourist commodity.

  • This guy looks a lot like Terrence

  • I agree, I see how the tourist could ruin what they use. What they need to do is stop going to countries where it is legal, and petition to make their own culture legal!
