Walls and sphere of deaths riders do wear helmets and are smarter for it.

And yes I have worn a helmet (heavier then a standard motorcycle) and pulled 3-5g's and the helmet put very little force on my head. Made me feel that it was there but nothing to strain my neck or anything.
