@madest The police and the SPCA had visited the home a day or so earlier due to complaints. There were other dogs there who were with these taken. One or more were injured, including the one with the broken leg. The owners were given 24 hours to get the animals treated, etc. When they returned those animals were gone and the two healthy ones were left--still without food or water.
@madest These dogs had no food or water and were in what appeared to be rabbit cages. One or more had fight wounds and one had a broken leg, so NO they were not well cared for. They were used by garbage as fight dogs. Humans like these make me sick.
The person I talked to this morning (G) stated there was a 24 hour notice. If this has been happening since Friday and you've known since Friday- THAT IS LONGER THAN 24 HOURS you should have done something at the end of that 24 hour notice and not sit and wait for accolades from your public because you responded "so quickly". Such BS-you rake in the donations but DO NOT DESERVE IT-
cont. I was told this morning by a woman whose first name starts with G that a 24 hour notice had been posted, she did not state when it was posted. You make it sound as you and you alone are responsible for the lives of these canines. AND THERE WERE MORE THAN 3. Where are the others? I counted 5-3 in the rabbit cages and 2 were chained outside. There were at the very least 75 people attempting to get you to go investigate since just this morning and this has been going on since Friday?
this is a crock of BS-you would not have gone out to this house unless quite a few of us(no less than 75 of us) who viewed the video that was posted on FB started calling you and the NOPD. We were hung up on, some responses from you seemed to insinuate we were disturbing or irritating you and one woman even told ME that the original poster should not have put the video on FaceBook. It was only when the news station picked this story up that you moved.
@madest The temperature in New Orleans over the weekend reached 106 degrees. Let's put you in a cage (OUTSIDE) for a few days without fresh food and water and see how well you fare.
How long should the SPCA wait??? Until they are dying and THEN go in to get them? Responsible pet owners don't leave their dogs like this. Thank God they still looked healthy.
@madest If the owner has abandoned them they need to be cared for. They could have just been left a few days ago and a neighbor or concerned citizen knew the owners/renters of the house were gone for good and called it in.
@316Tricia Yeah that's what they said in Mine. The SPCA in Louisiana has some fences to mend before they convince me that they care about dogs. These dogs in this video are well fed and healthy. Don't care what you think or who made the call. Go to netflicks rent the movie Mine and take a look at how the SPCA of Louisiana stole people dogs in the wake of Katrina and kept the new owners secret because the original owners were poor. They are a shameful organization.

Both of those dogs looked healthy and well taken care of. What does the SPCA in the 9th ward do? Steal peoples dogs? I saw Mine.
