  • I have a 1978 dodge colt. It has 88,000 miles on it and is in great condition for being 34 years old. I got it for $1000 from my neighbor. He was the original owned. It came with all the original paperwork and owners manual. It is a great first car for me!

  • These old videos are awesome, and remind me how much I hate new cars.

  • Remarkably, I saw a colt coupe driving today. Decent shape, could use some love but I was glad to see it since I haven't seen one in a decade at least.

  • The Datsun is probably still running today, I doubt the Colt is.

  • @ChanticleerHegemony I doubt any of them are still running. Can't remember when the last time was that I saw any of these models driving down the road.

  • @ChanticleerHegemony i haven't seen any old datsun cars(excluding the 240/260/280Z/ZX) still rolling down the road.... just datsun trucks, mitsus(colt) toyotas and even shatty pintos and a few v8 swapped vegas

  • @9:09 it's like I'm watching on quaaludes

  • @peacefrog0521 lol would you prefer I just delete the video...since it's not adding any value???? lol

  • @OsbornTramain I didn't say watching on quaaludes was a bad thing, did I? ;-)

  • @peacefrog0521 lol good point, no you didnt lol

  • @ 6:10 the promo video turns into a porn film

  • I love the epa gas milage estimates.there so over inflated.theres no way these cars got 47 mpg.on the highway.they used the old standards for estimates.prob.closer to 30 mpgs.

  • @ohguy1991 These mileages are correct. The economy cars back then weighed less and had smaller engines. They weren't loaded down with pesky safety equipment like Steel in the doors and Safety cage construction. They weren't bogged down by the weight of air conditioning or sound deadeners or power motors to operate windows. I regularly got 45 miles per gallon in my 78 Renault LeCar. VW Rabbit Diesels were capabile of getting over 50 mpg. Honda Civics got over 30 mpgs in 1973.

  • I like to see the gas mileages, and wonder what the hell happened to that progress today. Gas is 10x more expensive and topping out at about half the mileage hell a hybrid back then could have gotten 200 mpg.

  • @jheath420 Cars weigh more today. with all the ad on's of options, cars weight go up. On board computers, sound systems, sound insulation, power window motors, motors for all power options etc etc. All the safety equipment now...steel safety structures...all of that add on weight to a car. A 1961 Lincoln Continental weighs less than a 2011 Lincoln Town Car.

  • Funny, out of all of those, the only ones you'll see commonly on the roads any more are the Datsuns. There are almost none of the Colts left.

  • @gopconservative78 The Dodge Colts Japanese, and my Honda was a piece of junk (a Z600).

  • datsun is the cutest!

  • I owned the Red and White Special. It was a great car!

  • And because it was designed by Mitsubishi, the Colt will start every day. Not so with the Chevys!!!!!!

  • @landyachtfan79 And the Colt won't blow up when hit in the rear. Can't say the same for the Pinto!!!!!

  • The Vega was **** when it came to quality, my first car. I wouldn't take one for free even if it was equiped like a Cadilac. Colt way better. My mpg with auto was about 24, that was highway at 57 mph.

  • HAHA we had most of these cars growing up . vega ,colt ,chevette, corolla

  • what on 8 track I won't a 8 track all throes car and ON 8 TRACK that suck nice vide thro keep them coming

  • What about 77 Corolla?

  • Cool old nostalgic commercial!

  • I's trade my B210 for a Colt anyday!

  • my dad had a lancer version of the colt back in the day i love the rear end taillights!

  • This was my first car! I had the 1977 dodge colt little red and white special edition. i bought it for 500 dollars when i was 17 three years ago. man it really loved those old gravel roads i loved that car then on the day i was going to get my snow tires put on i slid it into the ditch.... and sold it for 250 bucks and a nintendo wii lol

  • Thats awesome, Keep up the good work! I subscribed to your channel and will keep checking you out. Thanks again for the memorries.

  • Hey, I used to work for a Ford dealership in High school, 79-84, I saw the start of the escort to the SVO stang. Like you said, I saw a lot of dealer promo stuff hit the dumpster. WhWish I did the same as you and get some of this vintage documents. THANKS!!! You have any of the Volare Road runners???

  • thanks for watching. No. sorry, no volare road runner promos...but I do have an Aspen Promo I'll be loading up soon..once i get it converted from film to video.....it has the Aspen R/T in the film if I recall. I've not seen the film in almost 30 years...that's the fun part about the transfer process...i see things i remember from 30 years ago.

  • @mustmike95 Why did they toss that stuff out? If they do that now it'd be pretty odd with "going green" being the thing now.

  • Chevy Vega, Chevette and Dodge Colt are the 3 worst cars in history junk. Datsun best car ever. All these junkers should have learned in how to build a world car. The Dastsun last for ever they were will build aside from the rust.

  • @masterlee123

Yeah dude i hear ya, Datsuns are great!!

even the rust wasn't nearly as bad as the vega though, i live in seattle and still see quite a few Datsuns around, very well bulit cars.

my dads old datto had 400,000 on it and was still running fine and had far less rust then his old chevy.

  • wait what about honda, toyota and subaru?

  • those make the best race cars!!!!

  • you know whats funny !?

    i ahve a colt and 2 vegas!

    and even a datsun 610!

  • Thanks, nice upload!!

  • Did your father work for chrysler corporation or What ?

Were did you get all this data?

  • Nope, I did. I was 17 years old and worked for a Factory Owned Dodge Dealer. It was manged by the New England Region Zone Office of Chrysler in Natick Mass. At the time, it was the largest Dodge Dealer in New England, 10 acres of Dodges, "Surburban Dodge, Sales, Service and Satisfactions, the Super S."... I worked there thru the 1977 thru 1980 model years. I saved so much junk from the Dumpster, including these films. I don't think other copies exist! I have more to come!

  • @OsbornTramain Now, I am more proud than ever to be subbed to you, I am a Bostonian as well!!!!!

  • How many smaller 30+ year old Dodges, Fords, or Chevys are still on the road today? I'd say the Pinto is the only one people are really interested in, but that is only because of its macabe history! :-)

  • a whole shitload actually...i own a 78 dodge truck,77 dodge van,2 1978 ford f-150s,77 plymouth volare,74 dodge dart,73 dodge van,and a 65 chrysler newport.they all run and drive and yes my neigbours hate me.

  • Dodge Colt "Hemi"???

  • Datsun is the better made car

  • subaru!

  • its a mitsubishi

  • @datsunmadman wich is the mitsubishi? the datsun?

  • lol 9:10 onward, the projector needs help LOL

  • We had these here in New Zealand sold as Mitsubishi Lancer (in 4-door sedan form only) - I'll say now that the wagon and hardtop versions would be rare wilderbeasts...

  • Yep, Dodge called Everything From Mitsubishi Colt, in 77 they had both the Lancer and Galant with the same badge'

  • I was a teen and worked at a Factory owned Dodge Dealer. We sold so many of these little Colts, the were well built and fun to drive. I always thought the front end styling of this car was reminiscent of the 1963 thru 1965 Dodge Darts. The Single headlamps looked very "Chrysler Style" to me. I know some people would or might disagree. I want to find one to own someday. They seem very rare now a days.

  • aaahhhhhhhhh

    beautiful...Colt
