OK, I did everything you said. Made the IPSW with seas0npass went into DFU mode. Turned on Tiny Umbrella, but I keep getting message The Apple TV cannot be restored . An unknown error occurred (1600). I am using a mac, and this is a very new ATV2. Any ideas?

Hey man i just wanna begin by saying thanks and good job with all your uploads. they've been very informative. I am having one issue with this jailbreak procedure. I did everything the video stated but when using Seas0nPass to create the IPSW from the one i downloaded using your link, it creates one and gets stuck on the unzipping process. I even put the new one in (C:\Users\Silva\MyDocuments\Se­as0nPass\Downloads) but Seas0nPass doesn't use it, what am I doing wrong? I'm on 4.2.1 if that matters

@CvBoyO7 you need to get the 4.2.2 and and not 4.2.1 that is old and Apple Server wont allow you to use that package so go to 4.2.2 8F305 and try

@xctechs that's exactly what im doing, i downloaded the last link on the site i was given by your description. my current firmware is 4.2.1 when i checked on the appleTV itself. I downloaded

I go through all the steps exactly and end up getting an error 1600 on both PC and Mac.

This is a brand new aTV2 and since Apple's servers are messed, I've never been able to update it from stock (4.2.1) to the newest update. Do I need that update before I try and load this jailbroken ISPW that seasonspass creates?

1. load tinyumbrella

2. go through create your iPSW and DFU mode

3. Turn on TSS Server on tinyumbrella

4. load iTunes find your file load it to AppleTV 2

Now there should be no problems

@xctechs I'm going to try snowbreeze. It's weird, I'm not a jailbreaking noob at all, done both my iPhone and iPad with no issues, but I just can't seem to get this to work. I know it's the kind of thing that if it works for one it should work for all - so I can't explain it.

When I use seasonspass exactly following your directions, it begins to load the IPSW, passes authentication (TSS), says updating firmware, looks like it's working, and then I hear the usb connect/disconnect sound. Fail. :(

@xctechs So it appears I've bricked it. It's stuck in DFU mode and won't come out. :(

Nevermind! I got it. Apple's servers came back online and kicked it out of DFU mode, allowing me to following your PERFECT working instructions.

this is very clear vid! thank you; my question is my atv2 has 4.3.3 (8F305) installed on it. Will your method also work for this firmware? Your vid says this will work on 4.3, but what about 4.3.3?

@Flow54321 that is the same on apple TV 2 when you hook it up to your TV it will show you 4.2.2 but when connected to your PC its 4.3.3 8F305 now the way i brought on the video i said 4.2.2 or F305 only way to verify and make sure you guys are not going to get confused

Why you should download the 4.2.2 IPSW 8F305 aka backup?

@djmaxis06 its explained on the video, the apple Website for reason the file was corrupted so they taken it down, that is why ( backup ) my friend :)

I have been struggling for two days trying to get this working.

Question: when i upload the downloaded ipsw (8F305) into the SeasOnPass downloads folder the tool still try's to download from the web? am i doing something wrong?

@AnthonyDucci look at my vid it actually have that part it should look for downloading then all of a sudden it knows that you already have the file it should just start to unpack
