Could never get mine to idle like that .Way clean . Still have my 1975 TM 100 that I bought new in 1975 in the garage.100 class in the Red bud (northern IN and southern MI ) region was a fast class .Faster than 125 A class at some tracks.Mark Barnett raced 100's on a sleveed down (so they said)Elsinore when I raced the TM's.Then he would ride 125 A class. We eventually made 100 's A and B classes due to the rider skill levels.Hard to trophy in that class. There was a lot of 125 jugs bolted on too
I remember the FMF CR100 well. That was a really hot setup. I raced the TM100 in 1974, then moved to a really interesting setup in 1975. I modified a 1974 Elsinore to accept a 1975 MX100 engine that had the noguchi kit. It had the cantilevered shock mounts with Bilsteins. It was a real head-turner. It had the standard Elsinore tank, except that the green tank stripe was repainted with Yamaha yellow.
Also, if you're looking for a paint shop that can produce a real show-quality paint job on these vintage motocrossers, call Kahl's Body Shop in New Albany, Indiana. They have done 3 1971 Kawasaki MT-1 tanks, a 1976 Yamaha YZ100 tank, and this TM100 for me. Ask for Jason - he's the Motorcycle guy. Their paint work looks like you can dive in and go swimming in it - excellent.
I use Bel Ray Gear Saver 2-stroke transmission oil. I'm not an expert on which is the best, but I've never had any trouble with this oil, and it comes highly recommended by several bike shops that I purchase from.
Sweet!

What oil did you put in the transmission? We're restoring a 74 also.
