Yeah, you may have figured it out by now, but no, you have to beat Bowser to unlock the purple comets (and beating him earns you a star, too).

This is THE MOST annoying level with the purple coins. True, i have found all of them. However, I KEEP DIEING IN THE EXACT SAME SPOT EVERY SINGLE TIME. I know where all the coins are and where to get them. BUT I KEEP DIEING!!!!

That's because a purple comet is flying overhead, it isn't normally tinted like that.

I don't remember, but it's been standard to include camera control since Mario 64!

yeah the camera is always in the game. Only usable in some places though. To change it, you can use the c button to centre it or use the d pad on the remote to move it.

Why did the borders of the stage have some autumn blur? It made the feel of the stage better, but I don't remember it being in the game.

That's because the purple comet is circling the world, it helps to set it apart from playing the level "normally".

Ah. I never went ahead and collected all the Purple Coins. I felt... accomplished by beating Bowser without taking a hit. Then, I got Pokemon Diamond. A little late, but I did get it. You get addicted... and then I played that until I got Brawl (I'm currently attempting to beat the Elite Four, Even though I think I won't beat those guys for a while, since I've become attached to Brawl and Battalion Wars)

If I remember correctly, don't try to move after jumping from the first vine. You should automatically latch onto the next.

Man I did this once, fell into the black hole at 45 coins, did it twice fell off at 70 coins, did it the fourth time, had 3 more coins to get and died. Gave up. I hate this level, the one in Battlerock and Spacejunk was way easier than this

Oh, the wall jumping? I was having a bad day... That and I STILL play the game like it controls as Mario64. This auto-sticking to walls, and jumping in a perfectly opposite direction with little influence of movement in the air - Not used to it.

I remember long jumping at walls, seeing stars and hearing Mario go "D'oh!", but pressing the "A" button at just the right time to make him Wall Jump anyway.
