Vince McMahon Sr and Vince McMahon Jr - Two totally different mindsets, two different set of philosophies, two totally different set of ideas and two totally different set of principles on the how the wrestling business should run. Father and son, yes. Undoubtedly, but also two totally different dichotomies. I'm sure Vince McMahon Sr understood where his son was taking the business just before he past away in 84, but I don't know if he'd very pleased as to how his son pushed the envelope.

I'm sure Vince McMahon Sr is proud of his son's accomplishments and all that he's accomplished in wrestling, as he's looking down on Vince from Heaven, but I'm not sure Vince McMahon Sr would be proud of the state of the business today if he was still alive. Much like Bruno Sammartino is today Vince McMahon Sr was a STRICT wrestling traditionalist back in his day, and with all the explicit language that we see in wrestling today, I'm not sure he'd too pleased with the state of the biz today.

the World Wide Wrestling Federation Heavyweight Champion, World Wrestling Federation Heavyweight or WWE Championship as its now known today was worth its weight in gold compared to National Wrestling Aliance Heavyweight Championship and WCW Championship. I have all the respect in the world for the NWA, WCW and Flair and their accomplishments, but it doesn't matter what era we're talking about when we talk wrestling. Vince McMahon Sr was a first class act. Very classy individual. Everybody that ever met him respected and admired him. Definitely a lot more respected by promoters and oldtimers than his son was. Vince McMahon Sr worked so hard that Vince McMahon Jr didn't even get a chance to meet his father until he was 12. For the most part Vince McMahon Sr was a classy and honest guy for most of his career, but if he wanted to fuck with somebody and play politics he could do that too just as well as his son.

Plus, what you've got to understand is that most of those regional promotions could never really compete with the WWWF or WWF back in the 60s, 70s and 80s. The WWE is the rolex of professional wrestling. It is the Rolls Royce of professional wrestling. Those regional promotions were bound to fail.

I always had Mr McMahon on the list of my favorite WWE Superstars. Just look at him. Back then he was great. Now,......now he is the greatest :) Yes there are certain things that he did wrong, such as buying WCW, ending ECW etc etc but look apart from those. Look at the moment when he was truly happy when WWF won against alliance. Look at the things he did right, which are many. That way, you wont even hate him

As a result his company grew, while others crumbled. Today far fewer people make a decent living in pro wrestling, and in many areas of the country people no longer see pro wrestling live like they used to see it.
