to the haters on here...SHUT UP and learn something about music..im with the people who said jimmy is a top guitarists out there today..i say the best..and this is such a sick band...if you dont like it, we dont want you on here anyway..go listen to blink 182 you poser..
MrKevin624: I try to be nice on here, but that is just a stupid, stupid statement. Herring is arguably the greatest guitar player of the past 30 years, Johnson is a beast, T. Lavitz is... Well, I guess you've never heard of the Dregs, huh? Perhaps a little musical education is in order for you...
@MrKevin624 Actually, you bumbling idiot, Each one of these individuals are veteran jazz Musicians, they are a jazz supergroup that covers Grateful dead songs, and are all very very very talented musicians, top of their tier.
They are playing really technical jazz fusion, you fucking retard. Their band name is a play on words. These guys are all veteran jazz musicians. You think you're ohhhh sooooo cultured for listening to Miles Davis and Oscar Peterson, right? These guys and probably everybody else on this comment thread knows ten times as much as your poser ass about jazz. Stop trying to be an elitist before you know anything about music. Listen with an open mind, and stop being such an ignorant dick.
@MrKevin624 you are an ignorant idiot. Do you have ANY ideas who these guys are? Apparently not. That drummer is probably the greatest living drummer. The other guys are monsters, too.
Go back to your Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber CDs, jerk.
what you are hearing IS a Grateful Dead song called Slip Knot. its the instrumental between songs Help On The Way and Franklin's Tower from the album Blues for Allah.
i love jid but i never really got into the actual dead...towards the beginning of college i was getting big into fusion so my dad gave me blue light rain...first time i'd heard any of these songs. still not the hugest dead fan, probably b/c i got big into these guys where the focus is the group interplay and virtuosity, wheras with the dead is more about the songwriting and the groove. nothing against them, they're great, just not really my musical bag.
i've never gotten down with dead either. every time i try to really listen to them Iose interest after a minute or two. they make me wanna take a nap.
is there an aud or sbd of this show floating around? having no luck
