Why is it your tone sounds sooooo much better than some of the other mountain dulcimer players? Some of them sound like nails on a chalk board. Is it the instrument, skill/method or both?
@LoMagick It's a little of everything. I use higher action, thicker strings, and I leave the back off my lap so it can vibrate. Let me know if I can help.
