i bought a genesis a couple of months ago put a lil bit of money on it (clutch, bigger IC ,19 psi spring, new suspension and HKS bov) pushing 265 whp and she goes! Not unusual to beat some Mazdaspeed and ralliart! STI and EVO still out of range... but im still comfy in my ride when there not lol

For those that doesnt know it, Mitsubishi requested help to Hyundai on the design and configuration for the new engine on the Evo X, that is based on the Tau engine from Hyundai. You can google it.

You got it wrong. Mitsubishi made 2.0T engine for Hyundai. Hyundai has nothing to do with. Mitsubishi also participated in Z concept for Nissan, infact they make parts for them.

Actually the 4b11t engine is a joint venture of both brands, however, good part of the block design was made by Hyundai. In the Gen Coupe, Hyundai uses a variant of the 4b11t called Theta II G4KF. I have a 1997 hyundai accent with 170,000miles, other than wrecking it a few times, Ive never done any mechanical work other than oil changes, etc. and its still running strong. I trust it for 3 hours on I81 every weekend, plus everyday driving - and I've dogged the hell out of it. I'll admit some of the parts are cheep (i.e. interior) but as far as reliability, its healed up better than any amaerican car we have ever owned :)
