Many, many, many players have done this before Malik. Malik's was the first in the shootout, why? Well because it was early on in the debut season of shootouts. I'll admit though, Malik's was better than a lot of these that I've seen... His was just more graceful. However, he is far from a pioneer with this move.

ok ok, it was a fancy shot sure, but the goalie had him beat...it was a bad bounce on the goalies end and could have just as easily bounced away, or over the net.
