I LOVED Alice Ghostly. She was so funny as Bernice on Designing Women. I cried like a baby when Nell died. I dont know what she was like in person but it seemed like she was always such a sweet woman who you just wanted to hug!

@Cut3gyrl4lyfe .. Are you talking about the chief? ITs not. Dolph Sweeney played that part. He actually died while the show was running kinda like John Ritter did on Dating my teen age daughter. It was sad. They put the story in the sho which I liked. It shows children that life happens and so does death. It was so sad. I remember how so many people thought Ritters show should end because he would want it. I dont think he would want his fellow actors out of work. Ridiculous!

@lilmommakc OH THAT WAS 1982, $40 WAS EXPENSIVE IN THOSE DAYS WHICH A WHICH MEANT A TV WOULD COST $50. I KNOW THIS BECAUSE IN THE 80's THE ECONOMY WAS BAD. SO THE MIDDLE CLASS PERSON WOULD USUALLY HAVE $40 to $60 in their purse or wallet.
