  • 23 people got their laptops stolen by a cardboard toilet paper roll

  • fock u you have a focking glasses

  • thx now i can steal some laptops in my school!! nice tutorial,

  • He made that look easy. WOW!

  • Good job on making a video to teach crooks how to steal people's laptops!

  • Nice job posting this on the internet where all sorts of criminals can find this guide..

  • Hey, this lock is 2-3 years old and thanks to videos like this Kensington has moved their locks forward in security by adding a front engagement pin that stops people using tubes to bypass the lock. Notice there are no videos of the new style MicroSaver being picked!

  • Grats on learning how to shim by accident.

  • what if it is a combo lock

  • interesting same system works to remove "the club" on your car

  • by the time you do it you would be knocked out

  • @kixmgc I count 11 seconds from the time he inserted the shim to the time it released the lock.

  • ohh yah, thats good, salty (eats peeling skin)

  • @shawndonald78 haha just saw that movie yestarday

  • Я купил замок Hama, он с 4хзначным кодом, мне не страшны люди с видео.

  • My grandmother always told me, "You expect to find 2 when you come back?" whenever I'd walk away from something as a kid. She was right, how about people don't leave anything laying around, no need for lock...

  • @A1R5N1P3R Except these were originally created for in offices... When an employee goes to use the bathroom, they tend not to pick up their computer and take it with them...

  • So fine, so good, 2006...

Just had a CLOSE lock (trying the same as foxpower) at a new MicroSaver of kensington. Locks and keys are different today. What he is doing does not work anymore with current locks. Try yourself!

I would be interested in videos showing how save/unsafe a current lock is. I do two things: a kensington plus an alarm software (iAlarmU) for my Macbook.

  • @TheMolemi The MicroSaver can be cracked in under five seconds...

  • lol whe he said lockpick the two people behind him looked over lol

  • i hope someone steals ur computer using your video...thanks i will consider another company...are there any better solution LOJACK?

  • Is that place haunted?! Paranormal activity in the form of an orb at :39

  • @gmecomber It's called dust.

  • @TEKsterful thats what i was thinking

  • @gmecomber I was joking... lol.

  • another way.. to give criminals ideas... >>

  • So.....What shoud I do? I was about to get a Kensington lock, but after watching this...not too sure about that. But I really need something to secure my laptop while I'm in the washroom or something.. there are so many hungry students in the school library lookingto steal anything! lol.. I once left an ipod for about 10 seconds, and it was already gone..

  • @jubilant102938

    1) move to Japan

    2) a laptops not going as fast, they have to be pretty brave to nab it

3)write HOMOSEXUAL in big letters on it not even theives want to walk around with that

    4) invest in dell exploding batteries, so you will at least be content with taking their cock off with it.

    5) become good at ropetying and tie it to the desk

there are many others of course but the best is

    EXTRA) Get friends.

  • @mandowarrior123 The only useful info I got from your comment is that you are a loser with nothing else to do. No friends to hang with? LOL

  • @jubilant102938 Hmm I don't think your poor intelligence grasped the fact that I just called you a stupid loser with no friends who doesn't know how to take care of their own belongings.

  • I wanna see someone try to rip it off.... Any suggestions anybody? Like, is the circuitry attached to the lock so that if you pull it the components get destroyed?

  • i fiddled around with it for 2 hrs, seriously bro?, you sat there for 2 hrs trying to break a lock, heres a tip, it comes with a key

  • Thanks, I was considering this for my new pc. I guess I will look elsewhere as this seems like it would be quick to pull off with such a cheep tool..

  • Wekk done 5*****

  • interesting. i was hoping to get one of this lockets.. no kingstone.. but maybe another one.. anyway.. now i'm going to think it twice.

  • Oh god! the Kensington lock defeated by toiler paper... Ok, next time I go to the bathroom I'll take the notebook with me.

  • I like how you show the thief exactly what to do ;-).. what were you planning on using this skill for anyway?

  • if you cough cough forget you password to the combination. IDK

  • @jesperc20 naa he didnt have what i was looking for, i scoped this place out for 20 minutes and i jumped a high privacy fence from the back side no place to put my feet and jumped over and about to break into the shed 2 steal a bike and it had to have a fukcing lock on it, any ideas guys on how to break the lock? ima try tomaro night probably.

  • Isn't that a KINGSTON lock?

  • Why do people put up such video's? Nice.. so how many thieves do you reckon you helped today? Sincerely hope one of them uses your technique to steal your laptop!! You know if you really wanted to make a video of this you could have then sent it to Kensington locks, so that they could improve their locks.

  • @namesnotimportant2u do u really think they don't know?

  • @namesnotimportant2u The vulnerabilities of cylindrical locks have been known for quite a while. There are hundreds of videos demonstrating these vulnerabilities, and the fact that the submitter is showing it on a Kensington laptop lock does not mean that the vulnerability did not exist before the video was made.

Fact is, Kensington might want to consider using a more robust mechanism if the intend to the retain market value in their products.

You are a bit off base.

  • I realise that, but what is the point of helping thieves that didn't know this technique? That was my point!!

  • Hollands accent, ZO GRAPPIG :D :D

  • i'm glad this is an old vid.

  • Cool, now college kids across the world can get ripped off by chavs with nothing better to do than steal laptops to get beaked. Good on you prick.

  • dude he was just pointing something that those 'chavs' probably allready knew, better for us college kids so now we know not to rely on these locks and better guard our laptops :)

  • oooh he has a 2600 shirt on. he's so cool.

  • Thanks dude you just saved me like 60 bucks from the HP website.

I'm not buy Kensington now...fuck it.

  • "I'm not buy" What the hell are you a caveman???

  • To Senate5250: It was a simple grammatical mistake, you grammar Nazi!

  • To Senate5250: It was a spelling mistake, you damn grammar n-a-z-i!

  • ugh Me not grammar nazi.

  • This lock is very old. The new versions of Kensingtions locks need a Double-sided key to open the lock. Also the cable is very strong and you need a bolt cropper to cut through it.

  • And how long until they figure out easier ways to get through it? It's a contest.

  • What is the Kensington answer to this?!

It's very funny that $70 lock that suppose to secure a laptop can be opened just by a piece of paper!

What a rip off these companies are.

  • Sukkel, laat ff heel de wereld zien hoe je een laptop jat.. Great work!

  • No way un i was gonna get 1 of these. U just saved me lol. I'll get a dog too he he

  • Gaffer Tape can do anything...

  • Mira pinche marrano pendejo y pelon ...

1 pinche hora queriendo abrir el puto candado y no se puede cabron teto mentiroso.

  • jajajajajajajajaja esta re cabula tu comentario... y si te apoyo que chingue a su madre el pinche pelon

  • Sounds like a dutchman :D

  • @Aleisdee he is from finland

  • @Aleisdee Hij is een Duitser ;o)

  • @murdoch201 Das duidelijk een Nederlander.

  • @ScotjeRPAS Je klikt op zijn naam, en scroll naar beneden... Daar staat toch duidelijk "land: Duitsland"

  • @murdoch201 ah, dus ik ben volgens jouw logica spaanse... -.-'

  • THANK YOU SOOO MUCH! I accidentally reset the lock (without knowing it) and was so scared that I was gonna have to cut the wire off. I used sissors to put pressure on the lock. It took about an hour, but it finally came off! <3 YOU ROCK!

  • oh the old Kensingtons... they've been upgraded since then, we tried it at work and it didn't open like this

  • fuck kensington....im gettin a pitbull.

  • WOw, because i always have some loo roll and gaffa tape with me :D

  • Why the fuck would people buy this thing? This is retarded!

  • Bitch.

  • Haha :p je kan als nederlander echt horen dat je nederlands bent. Gruwelijke truuk :)

  • Frustrating. Just tried this on a colleagues notebook kensington lock (he lost the key). No luck though. I guess it still requires a decent bit of lock picking skills.

  • That's quite disturbing, good that it can't be done with the combination versions of the Kensington lock :D

  • Please consider that such effort, if not taken to extremes, actually HELPS to protect people from stealing by revealing weaknesses that they might not have recognized before. This method is very common in computer security where encryption systems are not considered secure until many people have tried unsuccessfully to break them. Most systems will not pass that test.

  • thats a quite amazing trick...sad to see that ppl put trust in such systems

nice work and thx to foxpowr for this information.now i wont trust this system

    btw nice shirt =D

  • that's just sad.

  • well done!

  • Toight. Like a toiger.

  • *Grabs ski mask and a empty bag* ok, im off(just kidding)

  • Are you Dutch or something? you come from The Netherlands

  • nice

  • AHH ...

  • ppl can go to pc world and nick display laptops now

  • THIS is LOL !!

  • that is pretty amazing.... I ooed and ahhed watching it open

  • It's still pretty clever.

  • This lock is the 5-cylinder old version of the lock, the new 7-cylinder version is much more difficult to pick...

  • total crap this tecnique works on 7 pin security tubular locks just as good my dad has just paid $80 for a top security steering wheel lock and i opened it in 20 seconds using this same trick
