Sorry to say that the J. LaLanne juicer is mostly made of plastic & not appropriate for this type of juicing. 1 it may not last long & 2 there is too much heat which destroys enzymes in the veggies. We use an Omega 8003. Very sturdy, metal replacable parts, more expensive but of much higher quality. I do not follow J. LaLanne, also i never mix fruits with veggies or any other foods. Fruits must be eaten raw on empty stomach, wait 20 minutes after eating then eat the next food.
No, the pulp has the nutrition extracted out of them so there really is no point. too, the veggies are reduced to a slimy mass that is not terribly attractive. Thanks for your comment.
I juice 2 large bowls of greens and this this throghout the day. I also eat 2 large bowls of lightly steamed and raw veggies per day. Sometimes I have cooked millet then I take enzymes before eating. I eat raw fruit on a an empty stomach only & then wait for one hour before eating anything else. I wouldn't be able to eat all the veggies I need. too bulky. So juicing & drinking it soves the dilemma.
Emmisha there is another solution to mass nutrient requirement, well actually 2~wait 3. I've shied away from blenders etc when it forces change & beneficial process of nature yet might be missed by a push of button, ie versus real ripeness. however, tenderness for vegetables can include favored induced breakdown; occurs for ingrdients w/ moisture or own, air room temp. easy advantage is kraut/marination overnight. air drying significant too, 1st try dandelion convinced me: saladsalt -- beet lvs!
