And that expert! He didn't say "they took our phones!"
.
He said, "THEY took her
and took ALL of our phones
SO WE COULDN'T CALL ANYBODY."
.
*THEY* TOOK HER...how would Jeremy know it's more than one?
*ALL* OF OUR PHONES...how would an INTRUDER know it's ALL of them? wouldn't he NEED to search ALL THE ROOMS to get ALL THE PHONES?
*SO WE COULDN'T CALL ANYBODY*...why would an intruder EXPECT he could pull that off, when Jeremy DID call 911 w/his work phone, and COULD'VE called it from a neighbors?
@dukenthaylor Many people say "they" to refer to individuals too. In fact it is quite common. He could not call the intruder a "he" or "she" because he did not know who it was. It does not reveal anything misleading about his statement . Maybe he is lying, but that wording in itself doesn't give him away.
@pumibel It's ALSO quite common that "many people" LIE TO COVER-UP THE BAD "they" did *with* and/or *for* AND/OR *TO* someone they "love!"
My point in my previous post was..JEREMY WAS SURE in his response, which begs to understand how he COULD AFFORD THE RISK TO HIS DAUGHTER TO BE *THAT SURE* TO *KNOW*:
the NUMBER of "they",
about SOME STRANGE, UNKNOWN INTRUDER'S *KNOWLEDGE* about whether the phones he took was ALL of their phones, and
about THAT INTRUDER'S *INTENT* as to WHY he took the phones!
I definately see the dad looks up but he can't look up for even a second then he looks dopwn again, I know more people are pointing at the Mom but the Dad makes me feel more concern that the Mom, at least she can look at the people she is talking to,
@BritBavaria Nothing has come out indicating that the police did a blood test or a breathalyzer test on the mother. Hopefully, somewhere in the police notes it will indicate Debra was intoxicated. Unfortunately we may never know what the police noticed, and are just stuck with what Debra stated to the national media. We are all so spoiled and use to seeing everything out of Florida because of the Sunshine Laws.
Guilty or not why did they do the national tv interviews but not the local ones? Why the celeb lawyer when you have THE FBI and the real pros? Why the whole Hollywood style act? Its not just odd its creepy.
Isn't it funny that the definition of how a mother or father would react if their child was taken, was how Cindy Anthony acted the first couple of days (going to anybody that would listen, getting on TV, radio, working with the police, FBI), then it stopped cold. Just like it did here.
The dad reminds me of a person who has Aspergers Syndrome- a high functioning form of autism. They often speak in monotone, show little emotion, and do not make eye contact. He has been this way every time we see him, so I think he is probably always like that, even if he does not have Asperger's. It would help if we saw old home videos of him or heard from people who know him. People who look and sound like him are often misunderstood and perceived as dishonest.
Your child gets taken and people expect that every thing you say with be exactly what you said before - its ridiculous. Your grieving, your shocked, you black out.. The fact that any one remembers anything is amazing. So the Dad's testimony is slightly different. Well, lets see how everyone else answers the same questions day in and day out during a nightmare.
One of the news things I watched the Dad said he checked the boys, then checked baby Lisa THEN ran and woke his wife up and said Lisa wasn't in her crab. Funny how they've both changed their story.

@pumibel I agree, "they" is a common way of speaking of one person if you don't know its a guy or a gal.

Who in their right mind believes any intruder into Jeremy and Deb's home is "smart" in thinking he should keep:
1) them from making any future calls,
2) call records of, up to a point, their past calls, and
3) a tracking device on himself police could use to quickly catch him with?

@EdensSecret1 B/C SHE'S a SUBSTANCE ABUSER, and HE'S her CO-DEPENDENT!
They BOTH exhibit TYPICAL behavior:
SHE doesn't bear ANY guilt; HE bears ALL of it.
That typical behavioral nature makes me believe:
1) SHE killed Lisa BY ACCIDENT
(rolled over on her in their bed and SMOTHERED HER,
and/or gave her too much wine, effecting ALCOHOL POISONING)
but CAN'T take any responsibility, and
2) HE cleaned up her mess (hence, his facial expressions)
b/c he knows it could DESTROY THEIR FAMILY!

Hi Patti,
was an alcohol test done on the mother? Buying Wine, saying you were drunk and blacked out doesn´t mean you were.

I don't feel this baby was "taken". I think one or both of her parents know where she is.....
Just have that feeling.

@figgy709 A lot of people feel the same as you do, including me.

@pumibel He reminds ME of a TYPICAL CO-DEPENDENT!
Who has a lot to lose from going too far against the law to protect his FAMILY!
Helping your wife cover-up HER DEADLY ACCIDENT,
LYING and denying key information and access TO POLICE AND FBI,
STOICLY-but-CAREFULLY providing story changes to the MEDIA (NOT the AUTHORITIES), by
inserting BS phrases that "SHOULD" provide much-needed "reasonable doubt" at some later point FOR you and/or your wife!
STRESS SAPS a BUSY CO-DEPENDENT'S emotions, TOO!

@darlingmama09 Ridiculous, huh?
.
Well, if everything SUSAN SMITH said
turned out to be exactly what SHE said before
(you know...from HER "nightmare"),
there would be AN INNOCENT BLACK MAN IN JAIL
FOR KIDNAPPING (AND MURDERING) HER KIDS!
