This is one of the best designed trikes I have ever seen. Looks good sounds good .Not to radical.Very nice ride .Thanks for posting.I still ride Two wheeler Harley had my back rebuilt couple of years ago Its still telling me ,Time for a Trike.
i had a monster accident at work and have not been able to even sit on a bike since . been thinking about a trike for a while . your a cool dude man .
That is one hellva piece of kit dude, and I concur with the other writers you are an inspiration. I would be keen to know what the specs on it are. Would love to build one myself if I live long enough
I am impressed man! I lost my left leg to a drunk driver in 2003 and it took almost 7 years for me to get back in the saddle. I have a VW Trike with an automatic tranny. Stay safe out there!!!!!
When I started viewing this I glanced right and saw your wheelchair and so then I studied your legs closer and thought you may be a para. Then I read the box of text at the top right to learn about you. Dude you are inspirational! I had my self-responsible near death motorcycle accident in 1990 (aged 26) that resulted in me becoming a hemipelvectomy (left leg amputee at the highest level hip and pelvis plus I suffered numerous other internal injuries) here in NZ. RIDE TO LIVE BRO LIVE TO RIDE!
Hiya....20 years ago now !!!!! How you getting around now..? You ride or drive something..? I went to NZ for a weekend, back in '96....Hamilton. Would like to do a longer trip, as its a great place to paraglide too...
that's a sweet ride bro here in the states we have alot of trike clubs alot of handycap riders i've posted this on my facebook expect to hear from some. hit that nos. don't forget to post the video
Really a showstoper ! a beauty beast, class! I just wonder about the effectiveness of brake system,as it seems it has an automatic transmission and low down gear reduction brake effect...
The rear Jaguar brakes are remote servo assisted, with a seperate 12v pressure sensitive vacuum pump, working from an AP Lockheed Racing mastercylinder on the bars..... Quite effective : )
Not at all thanks. This was the first time time l took it out, as it says in the description, in a small residential estate. Im paralysed from the top of my chest down and had never ridden such a machine before. I broke my back on a 100 mph left hand bend, used to hanglide all over the World and still paraglide, so fear isnt something that l suffer from.
Thanyou jlmealer..... it took quite a while to get it all working safely from the handlebars as my legs dont work at all. My good friend Kieran really helped me getting it to look good in that process...
Hiya Dragon, I have no idea of the horsepower......but its more than enough, with plenty of low down and mid-range grunt !!! A real treat to ride.... : )
Its an Ali block so its not too heavy. I was thinking of putting a 24 litre V12 multi-fuel tank engine in....but l might have to beef the front forks up a bit : )
hi chap, good to see someone beat the system. sounds awesome. am building mid mounted v8 trike how does it handle with bike forks, and what are they? cheers rob
Hiya Rob, the forks and brakes are from a kawasaki GPZ1000 l believe... The wheel is a one-off 16" CMA with 4 bearings instead of the usual 2. The yokes are billet ali. Although it handles okay, lm not too happy with the forks. l think they have stronger springs in but its still really saggy and bottoms out on a lot of bumps. Im looking into sorting out a set of leading link forks or maybe a set of chunky girders....
Thats awsome i wouldn't mind having one of those. Just wondering though how do you shift? It seems the shifter is down at your left leg and you have the clutch on the left too.
Hiya : ) Im a paraplegic and cant move my feet/legs, so all the controls have to be for my hands. The left hand lever is a servo assisted brake for the back Jag axle. The right hand lever is for the Kawasaki twin front discs. Its an auto gearbox so no clutch. The gear lever is just down on my left side...drive-park-reverse and neutral. The throttle in a normal bike one hooked up to the silly carbs. Its real easy to ride and l love it : )
heheheee....its not mean to ask questions : ) Yes, Im a paraplegic after a big bike accident. I use a wheelchair to get about.. Take a look at my other videos.
I just know you are loving it! I'm not a para but after a huge head on colision with an SuV coming across the highway and hitting me in a LHS head on @ about 70 I spent 3 months in the hospital and broke 7 bones (including both ankles, knee and femur for the bottom half..;..I had to sell my vstar last year....didn't ever think I would be able to ride again....my husband has a valkyrie and I can now get on his but we want to get a trike for me.....I miss that ride so bad....GOOD FOR YOU!!
More than I can find the space to use : ) The mid-range kick is awesome, open it wide at 70-80mph and it takes off like a standing start and I havent tried to activate the NO2 system yet...
YOU are my new hero!!! i.v just got my first trike and a fire has been lit within me!! and here i was thinkin my trike was cool...but yours!!!! from new number 1 fan in New Zealand :)
