Even though Mello Yello isn't one of the most famous soft drinks and is a bit hard to find, it's still a great soda. There are like three places I've found it where I live, Target has cases of it, most convenience stores have it, and a nearby Hardee's has it in their fountain.

Isn't Mello Yellow more popular in the north U.S. while Mountain Dew is in the south? They're very similar drinks, and I've notice they displace each other regionally along the north/south divide. When I'm up north, I have a harder time finding MD.

In the summer of 1979 a local radio station in Valdosta, Ga, had an event they called the "Mello Yello Jello Jump" where people would jump into this dumpster full off Mello Yello-flavored Jello.

They even created a little song for it - "It's the Mello Yello Jello Jump, it's the smoothest move around...OM gushy gushy gushy, OM gushy-SQUOOSH!"

I was 12, and my Mom would not take me to it...I was disappointed to say the least!
