I listen to the music to realize if i like it or not, if i dislike it I then look to see what demograph of people like it (through mental notes) i.e. outgoing, shy, uneducated, educated etc. and i find that it really isn't much of a coincident that many similar personality types like the same music. But I really do think people need to be intellegent when choosing music that they think isbest

Music doesn't require one to fit into a certain category to like it. I don't even think it's a 'choice' when it comes to what you like. The general population likes what's at the top of the charts because mainstream music fits into a nice little box - a very familiar box. People thrive on familiarity.

Because the majority of stupid ass people nowadays don't know what talent was even if it sat in thier lap and called them "mama". What i'm trying to say is that most people don't know what real talent is when they hear and see it. Incubus rocks! They have been a band for almost 20 years now and still put out good quality positive rock music. I love these guys.

teenage girls ages 13-17 make up a majority of their fanbases. That is a large percentage of the media "constituency" in this day and age.

It just so happens that kids in that age bracket care a lot about the overall looks of a band than the actual meaning and performance of the music (about 80% looks to 20% music on average) Eye liner, slick moussed emo hair, rail thin frame, trendy fashion, and MTV fame feed into their popularity.

i am a 15 year old girl. i personally am in it for the music. i didnt even know what they looked like years ago when i started listening. the lyrics, guitar riffs, (bass line used to be great, although dirk was a jerk), are all beautiful and i get this amazing feeling i cant explain when i listen to them. i hate to fall in that category of teenage girls and it bothers me that is is what incubus has turned into.anyways,awesome band
