@CharlieDoan No one has ever made a .25 ACP rifle because it's a low pressure cartridge that is best from a short barrel and it gets no increase in velocity from a rifle length barrel, whereas the .22LR operates at a much higher pressure and gets a substantial velocity increase as barrel length increases. The cost of cartridges is another factor, why would anyone want to pay ten times as much for a box of .25 ACP when the .22 is ballistically FAR SUPERIOR?

I can put all six bullets down on a target in 1.5 seconds with no jams or misfires. How about do some history and stat research on this gun before you assume what it does. @TEEJAY9920 I've shot plenty of crappy guns and the Raven is the crappiest. It jams on every other shot, is loud (not necessarily bad in a fight) and is inaccurate as lobbing a rock. In addition to that the firing pins break after about a dozen shots. If you want a crappy gun for carry stick to the Star or Taurus brands. And if someone see's you with that zinc plated piece of shit you better hope your gun doesn't jam or misfire, because a 42 ounce bat will smash your head like a ripe melon.

@faffaflunkie You must have bad luck with firearms. My Raven has NEVER jammed on me and I've probably put 1200 rounds through it. I can pop soda cans with it at 20 yards. Yes Taurus sucks, I agree. But I would trust my life on my Raven. My main carry would be a glock but I still would use it. And its not like someone is going to carry a baseball bat where ever they go. I have a ccw license.

@TEEJAY9920 I didn't know that they licensed guns in .25 cal. Here the gun would have to be at least .380 cal. to qualify for a permit and it would be (the gun and ser. no.) on the permit, so if you carried a different gun you would be a technical violator. If you want a total cheapie to carry I would suggest a Star, and the Star's are even available in .45. I'm sure you could find a good carry gun in a decent caliber for under $200.00.

@faffaflunkie It does not matter what gun or caliber you use. If you have a CCW in the state of SC, you can carry any type of handgun.

@faffaflunkie I've had one for about 10 years now and never a jam. I'm not saying it is the best handgun for self defense, as a matter of fact I would not have bought one, but my mother who is now in heaven gave this to me as a gift. And then again maybe it's one of the good ones out of a thousand bad ones? Who knows?

Have the people who say that Ravens suck ever owned one, or do they bash it simply because it is inexpensive? With regular cleaning and maintenance, mine goes pop every time. Not a very gutsy gun, but if I were a perp, breaking into someone's home, I sure as hell wouldn't want to be shot by one. I think it is a good addition to my nightstand and a fun one for the range.

I am waiting for my local police department to hold a weekend "Gun Buy Back" program. It is common in Los Angeles, CA... You just turn in your gun and they give you a $100 dollars gift card for Ralps supermarket. In my case, I will turn in my Davis P380 in exchange.

I bought mine at least 25 years ago. They are cheaply made out of a zinc alloy. But as cruddy as they are, I understand that Ravens, in the hands of criminals, have accounted for many deaths. The mag holds six rounds plus one in the chamber, but never carry it that way. Totally safe until you cycle it for action. You can cap off six rounds very quickly, and put down anybody if they are directed at their face. But again, don't bet your life on this gun if you can afford something better.

I had purchased a Davis P380 before this Raven. The Davis jammed on me on many ocassions. My nearby guns dealer recommended this little Raven. He was right, the Raven is much more reliable as a little gun. Never jammed on me. Just too bad that the ammo is not as cheap as the .22s!!! Nice little gun to have in your ankle holster. Mine was purchased during the late 80's and is black in finish.
