FEAR is scary at some points FEAR 2 PO actually almost made me piss myself 1 good time but Dead Space is like that the whole game. You dont know if something is gonna jump out and grab you from behind or if somethings gonna pop out from the side vents or you keep asking yourself if something is really dead. So dead space is scarier.

That's really a myth. It's stuff made up by people who are completely against DRM, to discourage you from buying the game. Does a good job, too. Sure, SecuROM has its problems, like hard to revoke activations, but 99% of what you hear is fake. And if you're like me, and only plan to install the game ONCE, you'll have no problems.
I finally decided to get Stalker-Shadow of Chernobyl - game which was released a couple years ago. IT doesn't use DRM but you must have the installation CD inside a CD/DVD drive in order to play. Initially when it was released, Stalker had alot of bugs...but with all the updates since then it is a stable game and a fun game to play. Also...with all the missions and areas to explore (and the online deathmatch gaming) it has alot of lifespan.

how scary it is is up to opinion, but i found dead space to be scarier than FEAR, mainly because in dead space, the tension and paranoia and anxiety were constant right from the get go.
where as in FEAR the game is atmospheric yeah, and it gives you that real sense of being haunted, but thats all it is really, haunted, the fear is not a trully real threat, and the game had run and gun sections that lasted long enough to snap you out of the "oh shit im gonna fucking die" feeling.
fears not scary, this game shit me up for the first 3 hours, now iv got used to it for a bit, if you play this game at night, dark and loud, things will get a bit freaky!

Very good review, I agree full heartedly as well. I played on hard and only at night though, I loved it. You are right about the tension aspect, this game makes you more paranoid than a pothead but I do have a gripe about this. Once you clear an area and it is no longer relevant to the story, you can backtrack to pick up items you may have missed before, and have no worry of being hunted down. I wish the vents were always alive with creatures. I give Dead Space a solid A.

People saying it isn't scary, but they played with the lights on--in the daytime--well that's just lame IMO. Only way to play this kind of game is with the lights all off at about 2AM--on a stormy night if possible. I live alone (well I have 2 big dogs) ten miles from the nearest town, and just got a 28 inch monitor--so I expect it's going to be pretty freakin' creepy.

Dead Space is just a unoriginal and derravitive "survival horror" game that's not scary. It rips off resident evil 4, system shock 2, and doom 3. It's bland, repetive, and generic. It's just another mediacore EA game.

Its a great review but its far from the best ever as some are saying lol. Its good. Have i done any? No, but then i cant do them but im saying this isnt the best or even near it but its a great amateur for sure! Really told what was needed. Looks a kewl game and maybe ill try it out.

People saying it isn't scary, but they played with the lights on--in the daytime--well that's just lame IMO. Only way to play this kind of game is with the lights all off at about 2AM--on a stormy night if possible. I live alone (well I have 2 big dogs) ten miles from the nearest town, and just got a 28 inch monitor--so I expect it's going to be pretty freakin' creepy.

well i have it on 360 and love it! i think the console one will be better for you but then again i dont game on my pc. i jus game on my 360 and ps3. but there is pc games i love!!

Its not that scary.
I had been playing it for 20 minutes and an infected pops out of nowhere, not even startled, I was just like; Oh hey! Theres a monster! I have a gun! There are many like this one but this one is mine! I must shoot.
Or something like that, but the scares get old fast. Alltho i didnt turn the lights off.

Dead Space is just a unoriginal and derravitive "survival horror" game that's not scary. It rips off resident evil 4, system shock 2, and doom 3. It's bland, repetive, and generic. It's just another mediacore EA game.

buddy its personal opinion, im allowed to say what ever the hell i want about a game, and i never said i was of the caliber of yahtzee, frankly he is awesome, im a huge fan.
but you can go right on and fuck off, you have every right to dislike the game for what ever reasons you see fit, but dont cry to me about it because your beloved resident evil 5 isnt here yet

And guys please stop overreacting, this game isnt Scary, even doom 3 was scarier than this game, but it does not depend on the game but depends on YOU. I played it on the PC and i liked it very much, tjag808 is right its not a "Survival Horror" game, if i think of survival horror game i think about thinking strategicly about using ur ammo, but in this game u have ALOT of ammo and less inventory...

As all say, great reviews. Just try not to say "ridicously" and "reaaally reaaally" many times. It gets... annoying, if said too many times ^^' (and sometimes predictable).
But anyways, the best amateur reviewer no youtube :)
