That's part of the game. It's explained very plainly in the instruction manual that you don't always start off in the same place that you save.

Only the Spirit and Shadow temples are needed. since neither are normally accesible without glitches, the game thinks you have to do the 2 others to even get to them.

however every time i see the ending to this game i just think it is totally lame... i mean most of us don't beat this in 2 hours and it's pretty damn anticlimactic for the time this game takes.

Apparently, the game only checks for you having the Spirit and Shadow Medallions, once after each of those 2 temples. The storyline tells you to do Forest, Fire, Water, then Shadow and Spirit, so the developers didn't think it necessary to check for all 6. However, since the Bow, Hammer, and Longshot aren't really necessary in any temple after the one where you get it, a little bit of game manipulation can result in this.

It's possible to glitch past some temples, in speed runs, people are trying to get through the game as fast as they can, not do the game properly! :-)

To do it, just pull the Armos Statue like I did and jumpslash into the corner. It works because of how the game deals with Link moving into an angle.
