  • I had just started the third grade when Green Acres first debuted on CBS. However, I didn't start watching it until six months later with the Molly Turgis episode. Come to think of it, the show's first season is my very favorite.

You're right about one thing: there's just too much junk on TV today. CSI New York, CSI: Miami, Without a Trace; way too violent. And Survivor. Who wants go be stranded in the middle of nowhere and eat bugs just to win a million dollars?

  • This episode was aired on TVLand just the other day! Haven't seen it in years!

  • This is one of my favorite episodes because you get to see more of their apartment. It really was a nice apt I just don't see how he could've given it up. By the way, does anyone know what the address is to the exterior used for their Park Ave penthouse? If so please reply, thanks.

  • Good clean comedies like this need to be made today, not all that reality crap, I just ordered the first season DVD, and I can't wait for it to get here,

But seriously, something needs to be done about the crap that is on TV these days

  • I so very much agree. The series Green Acres is extraordinary and special. It´s a real pitty that it never made it into Austria´s or Germany´s television.

  • agreed

even remaking some of the old shows like this would be cool

im only 19 but i find the shit on tv now adays well is SHIT!

  • Hi Lucky Star, Thanks for the note! Yes, Green Acres was truly a wonderful show, so much better than most junk on TV these days. I believe it was the film critic Pauline Kael who called Green Acres the most well-written, fresh idea in TV at that time. I own 4 episodes of Green Acres on 16mm film and once did a free screening at a cafe called...Green Acres. It went great!

  • I so very much agree, HunterMann and do think the series is even better than Cambridge dictionary for "Idioms". You have no idea how very much I´d love to be in that cafe right in the middle of other kindred spirits watching your special free show. Great idea - go on!

  • Thanks for posting this! I'm curious about the fact that it's in color, yet the first year or two were broadcast in black & white. Oh, I'm looking for a 16mm print of this episode!

  • Sorry I cannot really answer this because the series never really made it over the big pond to Europe you know. I owe my passion for Oliver & Lisa to a friend of mine who introduced me into their city/country life because he knew I like it simple, too and I certainly do. So, I´m the proud owner of 32 episodes on DVD (first season, region 2) but cannot help you with a 16 mm print version, I´m sorry. But it´s also nice in colour, don´t you think?

  • ilove people who break the copyright law and post this good stuff funny how it says right before you upload no tv shows...sorry that noone on you tube can read or give a hoot...thanks enjoyed this one a lot also downloaded it to my files for safe keeping.

  • Great, a ful episode.

I watched this show years ago, so long no see =D

  • I've only recognized Eva Gabor by her voice from the Disney movies (Rescuers and Aristocats).

She had such a great voice.

  • What century was Oliver born in? Looks like the 1800s. LOL... Also if he was such a smart lawyer, how come he got cheated by Mr. Haney so much?

  • Well what you see in these lovely tv-series happened during the last 100´s of years. I assure you Oliver, the lawyer, is smart but not perfect (no one is) and I think his little failures make him just more loveable if you ask me, lol. I love this guy and his passion for the country!

  • Nothing is quite logical with 60's TV sitcoms. Ever wonder why the coconuts on Gilliagan's Island came off the tree with no husk on them? Why could you hear them walking on the sand? How is it that everyone but the Howell's was celibate? Why did the Howell's bring so much luggage for a 3-hour cruise? It boggles the mind!

  • "Crowded streets, polluted air, unfriendly people, New York is nothing but a rat race!!! and the rats are winning!!". Lmao oliver was great and knows what he is talking about!

  • Didn't know I could find this here. Wow, what memories. I love Eva Gabor. She's sooooo beautiful.

  • The wonderfuly absurd Green Acres. If there was anything half as good as this on network TV I might start watching them again.

  • me too!

  • One of my favorite shows! Thanks for posting!

  • one of the best shows ever televised. B

  • my mom told me to check out this show cuz she used to watch this when she was younger~!

  • Thanks for uploading that short clip of Green Acres, it brings back a lot of memories.

  • The HANEY place!?!?!?!

  • Priceless humor, one of the best shows ever! Thank you for taking the time to share this with everyone on youtube.

  • Best show ever! Makes me laugh - not that different from a crazy, bazaar workplace or nutty, dysfunctional family. Wonderful show - lots of laughs!

  • I so totally agree and adore the lawyer, Oliver, so much and his passion for the simple life. I know that some people think it´s dumb but I don´t think so because in fact it´s witty, refreshing and very cheering. The best show to watch and relax after a long strenuous day at work.

  • Do you still get these shows on cable? I sang that song for for my husband this morning - and made him laugh so hard! Very simply pleasures are the best! Honesty, integrity, and simplicity - love it! My kid dances in NYC but we love the simple life - and we love to laugh alot.

  • No, unfortunately not since the series has never really made it to Europe on telly. It´s a dear friend of mine who introduced me into it and made me nosy so that I´s looking it up on amazon and never regretted. But there has been only the first season of Green Acres available in PAL 2 and that´s all I have seen till now. But I´m definitely looking forward into the next one. I´m glad that there are still some people out there who share my passion. Thanks for your respond and interest.

  • Green Acres is now available in Lithuania, in LTV. :)

  • Not to mention a cameo by John Daly (Mr. What's My Line himself)

  • i want to move away from the ratrace of the city... " hear hte fife playing?" hes playing yankeee doodle. i love this show, and wish for more re runs at least one of the best tv shows of all time.. hands down

  • Amen to that! Country rules and so does green acres.

  • Ya hank is funny. He always come to oliver house and forgets ovlivers name lol.

  • Mr. Kimball or Kimble, the perpetually 'forgetful' County Clerk, is the best - if you have any with him, we'd love to see them. Thanks.

  • How about posting some stuff with Alvy Moore (Mr. Kimlbe) in it.

  • i love this show!

  • lol i come home every day after working on the farm, climbing the telephone pole, and dealing with Eb and i say to myself this is a ridicoulus way to live. Oh Lisa lets buy a penthouse lol

  • i love green acres that was graet tv

  • 超懐かしい!

  • hey is the guy who plays oliver's dad the same guy who plays oliver???

  • yes he is

  • lol too noisy, too crowded, no sinshine, no privacy, no fresh air, too expensive, too snoozy, too far downtown, too far uptown, lmao!

  • Brilliant. The humour has really held up well over time. I'm off to purchase a boxed set. Thanks!

  • I´m very glad that there are still some people out there who appreciate my doing even if the quality isn´t the best, lol. Thanks for the nice words.

  • Thank you! The funniest show ever on TV--this kind of humor endures forever. More, please!

  • You´re welcome.
