  • ok for one, that is a super clod buster , still way cool ,the only difference from the 1987 clod buster is the chevrolet badging on it,and the blue parts insted of red. the super clod say,s 4x4x4 on the front,(no chevy bowtie ) but yea, show some respect for the clods !! ;) i had one brand new in 87 and i wish i still had it.. but i do have a decked out super clod :)

  • Heres me thinking i had the only purple clod in the world rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

  • need to lock the diffs, if i could find one of these trucks i would start a retro monster truck league. Beings they run like springers. I don't consider the speed is a downfall, its realistic for that style of truck

  • looks like a fun little truck to drive:p lol

  • can you lock them in 4wd? i see a lot of single wheel spinning

    thanks

  • I like this video so much. Im sure i watched it at least 10 times since i found it several month ago. Thanks for this!

  • i still have an unmolested clod

  • that thing sucks.

    my emaxx could murder it

  • bring your emaxx on over to my house lol I'll show you what a real clod can do ;)

  • the clod buster is a classic, show some respect!!

  • its slow and it gets stuck on very small hills. whats to respect?

  • like i said before it is a classic, it was models like this which paved the way for further improvements in RC which allow you to have your emaxx and hpi savages today

  • @indrajeet RIGHT ON! clodbusters started selling in 1987 are still being made today!

  • the clod was the original scale rc monster truck show some respect the e-maxx may be faster and more capable but the clod is still king

  • r clod busters water proof

  • I have a clod, its totally custom with ducted Fans (its actually 4 vehicles worth of electronics), where im only using the gearboxes of the clod. I like the clod, its my favorite truck, and now that im pretty much done and out of the hobby, the clod is the only vehicle that i still think about. If i buy another im going to keep it stock..cause as funny as it sounds, i never had a stock one.

  • It's hard to find a video of an unmolested clod these days.

  • 4 wheel steering! SWEET!

  • multiplemigs37, the balldiff gestapo.

  • Clodbuster, Bullhead and Super Clodbuster rocks.

  • i think the diff is the biggest problem with the clod buster. a limited slip differential, or a rigid diff would give it sooo much more traction

  • It didnt get stuck If it got stuck it would need help to get out.

  • I'm sorry and your right...it never got stuck it did lose forward momentum. clods in stock form are just plastic toys I have 2500.00 plus in my ripper pro and until I got the ball diffs it was a one wheel wonder buggy (pathetic) later.

  • Or save yourself the money and pack the diffs with JB Weld

  • Oh great. Now you've got me wanting one.

  • do you want to sale your clodbuster

  • hello! i´ve got a clodbuster to. but its black, and very very cool. i´ve got a new speed controller in from novak, i also put 2 new ingine´s in it, because it was where slow, and now its driving much better! its a good car but i´ve got a lot of trouble with it.

  • Hey!!! sell me that awesome truck!!!!!!!! I always wanted a clod buster.

  • i got that same truck it suks!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • thas that go about 1mph

  • Speed isn't everything you know

  • hey im saying that in the good way i was saying if it goes 1 mph

  • @gianrich there is a bunch of upgrades for it..like the twin motor gearbox that lets you run 4 motors on it..and different motors and esc

  • Is that Super Clodbuster stock?

  • Nice truck, and good music!

  • good driving

  • I prefer the clod in stock form because it performs like a real 1980s monster truck would. But each to their own! Cool truck, cool vid, interesting music :)

  • You paint job look great. The speed control that you use was mecanic or electronic?

  • lock your diffs, get rid of the rear steering and you will go over anything... nice truck

  • Nitrochevy: Locking the diffs sounds like a GREAT idea. Is there any aftermarket products out there to do that?

  • I think a long time ago Thorp might have made a straight axle kit you could buy from Tower. That was ytears ago though.

  • Thorp did indeed make a lot of aftermarket products for Tamiya vehicles. Thanks.

  • looks like nearly nothing can stop this truck! very nice video!

  • ive kept my clod stock exept for 2x 17turn gm purple tigers and and longer shocks (has 9inches of travel)

  • looks great tho!

  • its stock capabilities are disappointing...

  • I don't think 4ws is stock.

  • it is

  • T'isnt. I got mine from the local tip just today and it showed no signs of 4WD.

  • What are you talking about???

    This is very simple:

    Clodbuster = 4WD + 4WS

Stock... that's it. No kit, torches, Pimp my ride episodes, chains, or trip to the auto parts store needed...

Four wheel drive from two separate gearboxes, and two 540 motors.

Four Wheel Steering from one center mounted steering servo (high torque servo required).

  • try hookin up the other motor because unless your wiring is wrong or your build of the axle is wrong its a veryvery basic (but awsome) 4x4 truck

  • 4ws is stock on a tamiya clodbuster.

  • Seriously, open your differentials, fiberglass your spider gears to your planetary. Just do it. You'll thank me. I've done exactly this to exactly this truck. Your performance will be fantastic. A truck this size should not be posi.

  • its "lock"! also fix the front steering rod. nice truck

  • you must block your diferential !

  • Thats how poor boys do it, a fully adjustable ball diff is the ultimate solution. You get all the traction you need plus you can still turn nice and tight on high grip surfaces.
