@kingreese79 it is a transition / break between what sounded like the end of 'Standing On The Verge' and 'Mothership Connection'. The horn players are Greg Boyer, Greg Thomas and Bennie Cowan. They came up with many new arrangements for older PFUNK songs as well as contributing to the current recordings. Most likely this is something they arranged for a transition. Check what did on the end of 'One Nation' from this same tour - jazzy and funky at the same time.
When skeet took his bass solo, george told the rest of the band," to keep it movin".@ 4:30, all the way to the end it is so funky. Y'all gonna think i done lost my mind, but i can see the chior marching in on this one. Yes, with the hands clappin. They can change the words, but the music, just like it is. Lord have mercy. Well go head den !
I seen them in Pittsburgh Pa in 1992 they where at the Metropo Club in the Strip District ........Man they where leaning on the funk that night...............
Everyone in Winston-Salem and Greensboro, NC in the 70 and until the day are still P-Funkers , we love them and wish there could be another band that was so much fun and made you forget all about your problems, take you to another world. Just pure fun and entertainment.
Skeet is still jamin and funkin till this day, and has not lost his touch... He told me he was 21 at the time of this concert.. I can only imagine how amazing it must have been to be 21 and on tour with someone who basically birthed a generation of music.
This take me back to 1975 before the children. I remember seeing them in Richmond V.A. that was a show I have never forgotten the 3 concerts I went to back in the day.
That was just some powerful shit..!! I went to an almost 4 hour show in ATL in the 90's. This show brought me right back to the one I went to..Clinton just flew the Mothership right down our throats in this video...it was a great performance..!!
This is great, George Clinton is the GREATEST!!!!II think he is the Father of the FUNK!! I heard the funky music always starts on the ONE!!! That concert was the best in 1978-79!! I wish I could go back in time & see it again!!!
Hey he must be a bad mf to be a coke head and a millionair song writing, producer, with probably over 25 albums and still on tour after 25 yrs. & in the Rock hall of fame.
Mr. 898106, let me quiz ya' bro: You were leaving the Cap Center just like the rest of us, when suddenly, P-Funk pulled this encore, causing everyone to rush their asses back inside to catch it!! Man, I will never forget that. Me and my crew were only a few paces from the car when "Star Child" started.
George Clinton is an incredible showman. This vid also shows how talented Funkadelic was all around. They weren't just good for bad-ass guitar solos alone.
Bernie's solo almost sounded like it could have been off of America Eats Its Young. Very funky indeed.
