China's fine. They'll take their time, develop how they want to, who are we to judge them? Culture is up to ones perspective. Maybe they just weren't ready for this yet. Fuck knows the rest of the world wasn't ready for it either at one time or another.
They're absolutly amazing and so are their lyrics!!! Such a pity that visual kei is not accepted by many in China. Silver Ash have some serious talent that are going to waste!
I remember when they had a concert in the U.S. I remember reading about them in a magazine, was like "Cool!" but wasn't able to go to their concert. Now I wish I was able to see them before they seemed to disappeared. Anyone know if they are still making music and where I can find them, online, or something?
My 2 cents: I think if the government was more accepting of alternative and rock more people would pay attention to Silver Ash and other similar bands. But even with the gov't frowning upon such music, there's still a thriving underground metal and alternative scene at Beijing! So, the generalization of Chinese hating rock isn't really true.
Hey! Not all Chinese hate rock! It's just that rock music isn't as popular in China - it's not that people hate it.... I believe that Chinese rock is more underground, so it is not as well known as the pop music scene in China. Thus it in turn "creates" people who know less about it.
Well, I'm Chinese (from the US), and I love rock music! And in connection to this topic, I honestly never heard of Chinese rock - never knew it even existed - well until last year......
chinese people dont really like rock music too.. not that all chinese people hate rock music.. but just that very few of them listen to it.. most prefer to listen to pop ballads and cheap commercial pop..
Yeah, true. But i think a lot of chinese people in hong kong and places likes rock music now esp. vk style. it's just that there's only a very few artists there sings to rock. Most of chinese artists are all soft and lovely which makes me kinda sick. The government think it will corrupt the young minds if they were to listen to something like visual kei.
err, haha. I'm chinese and i mostly listen to metalrock xD
Sorry, that's a bit of a stereotype, isn't it? It's like saying African Americans only like rap or something. If you want to talk like that, it's not like VK or rock is particularly popular with the Japanese either; it's a minority, actually.
I happen to be Chinese. Vivid j-rock fan, but I'm not attacking you or anything here. Just that, to base judgement on an incredibly large amount of people? Seems a bit foolish. I've noticed that you said that a few of them listen to it, but regardless.
hello there. I happen to be Chinese too. I have lived in many places, such as Hong Kong (for a few years), and Taiwan. No, I am not stereotyping chinese people, There are underground chinese rock bands, who have their own supporters and fans. But then very very few people support chinese rock. None of the big recording industries like Sony want to sign any chinese bands. They are not given the chance to play on Taiwan/HK TV or radio. And virtually most chinese people just hate rock music.
I'm well aware that there is that generalization. I'm not denying that it exists, just that the way it was worded seemed quite final and somewhat denegrating.

well, it is degenerating, isn't it? a majority of an entire generation of chinese people have no love for rock music at all.. i think it is degenerating, shameful, and absurd.
It is pitiable, but again, you're pretty much just slapping a label on a bunch of people out there. Rock music isn't better than any other music in any sense other than personal standards. It's sad that it can't be more widespread, or that certain people, not just the Chinese, are unable to be more openminded not just about rock, but many genres, but again. -shrug- Calling it shameful and absurd seems to be insulting them for not liking something you enjoy, which isn't particularly fair, either.
yes, even though a small minority listens to visual kei in japan, at least there is still enough supporters of visual kei , so that the bands are able to earn some money, and do music as a living. That is not the case in china, taiwan and hong kong. Most bands cannot make a living on playing in a band because they do not have enough support, compared to the VK bands. Most of these chinese bands sometimes break up, and continue making music because of financial reasons. Its really pitiful.
Thats sad, but its kinda funny that all my chinese friends, family and their friends, as well as myself, love C-rock... and we're all Chinese. Its not that hated... but it is true that most bands like this arent very well known. The government's just bitchy.
This song really is pretty awesome. Too bad China's government is censoring them these days.
What a shame... China should really learn to accept more awesomeness. SHAME ON MY HOME COUNTRY!!!! yes I'm from Beijing which gives me about 5% of a right to say that, lol
Silver Ash rock! I think they have their own style. (Don't very matter about their look but song è_é)
Stop to compar them to dir en grey, because they're not dir en grey! -_-" Their look it's a "classical" visual look. And stop to say that dir en grey it's first visual band because is not. First visual band are X-Japan and Malice Mizer.
P.S. dir en grey are produced by Yoshiki the leader of X-Japan
Exactly. Don't you just hate it when girls watch a music video and flood it with comments like "OMg that guy is sooooooo hot i duno his name wats his name?!!?!?" and "oh i hate this music but the guys are soo hawt!"
Silver Ash's lunar eclipse was weird and reminded me of Manson but Manson's for little kids. The song was very nice though.

nyaaaah i love this song
no I'm not a fangirl I'm a normal person who happens to like this band
...it's just a shame that the vocalist sounds too much like Klaha...gawd i can never get over that. The lyrics are amazing and the tone is great!
I can easily tell from japanese music and chinese music so Dir en grey are totally different from silver ash. PLease stop the pointless comparison.

conneda, Dir En Grey are/were Eroguro Kei.
This is the classic Visual Kei.
You just can't compare these two bands: it's a different style, sound and lyrics!
Silver Ash rock.
